BA5986FM Compatible Chip? (the Chip Controlling the Motors)

Hi. I'd like to replace my possible burned out BA5986FM chip that runs the Dreamcast's motors but the used drives that I can take a this IC that controls the motors are from a DVD writer drives from Lite-On, a CD-ROM only from NEC, combo writers, DVD-ROM only and DVD writers from Samsung and I thin NEC (alls used condition).

Has anyone replaced the GD-ROM board's BA5986FM with another chips that is not BA5986FM, successfully? I may be able to revive two or four Dreamcast units if I can replace their BA5986FM chips.
