Dreamshell - custom Bios chip q’s

Hi all,

Very new to the DC modding scene…
I’ve just done these mods to my PAL (AU) VA1 Dreamcast:

- custom transparent Smokey shell
- dreamPSU
- Noctua fan mod
- battery mod
- LED mod
- Region Free BIOS

I got the bios off AliExpress it stated it was Region Free and Dreamshell. I mostly just want region free to play Japanese games (discs).

So it booted up, PAL blue logo animation, it quickly flashed to a black screen loading Dreamshell boot v2.4. It then shows a Dreamshell boot screen with Boot to RAM and Boot to CD greyed out.

What’s my next steps here?
I’ve got a Dreamshell SD serial dongle coming and disc… what’s the best possible bios to run these days?

At the moment I can’t even pop a regular disc in and play it always boots to this boot screen.
