Hi. Mil-CDs, damage the Dreamcast lens faster they say. Would anyone know if the paid homebrew games like the upcoming Slave (or Sturmwind) are burned to GDI discs (maybe using a Katana Dev Kit) or they're just high quality CD-Rs from Taiyo Yuden, making them Mil-CDs too?
Thank you in advance. God bless, Rev. 21:4

Re: Do the Discs Of Homebrew Games (the paid ones) Burnt to
It's not MIL-CD's damaging the laser, but data burned on recordable discs. For a laser (any laser) it's harder to read the data from a burned disc, then a pressed disc. Also certain copied games have a shitty sort-order of the files on disc, stressing the laser even more (that being said, there are also a couple of original games out there with a highly unoptimized order).
To answer your question, ALL paid homebrew / indie games for Dreamcast have been released as a pressed disc on a CD-ROM (instead of SEGA's proprietary GD-R disc).
Also don't confuse .GDI (raw dumps of GD-R discs) with the type of disc GD-R (GigaByte Rom)

Thanks for the clarification. What brand would you guess, do homebrew creators (paid) use, hopefully the Taiyo Yuden so it lasts.

They don't use recordable media, but get their projects pressed on actual CD's.

Unfortunately, no one has GD-ROM's anymore, not even Sega.
