Sorry nobody replied to you sooner.
The problem could be two things: the av cable, or the connection port itself missing. Few solderings due to misuse by previous owner such as blended cords, crazy directions, pulling wire upward or downward. Try getting an official cable, if it doesn't work, then it's the port, and it will require soldiering... But before I leave you there, tell me this, if you jiggle the cable while it boots, does it change the sound at all?
