Time for Sega to jump back into the hardware business?

Post by Bob Dobbs »

Quasi-famous technology journalist, Don Reisinger, thinks that it is about time for Sega to jump back into the hardware business. I kid you not...someone needs to do their homework on Sega before making these comments.

Its what we all dream for but don't expect to happen. If Sega was going to jump into the 8th gen. of game consoles I think they would be spewing hype by now.

its hard to say for sure what Sega will do in the future. when it comes to a new console they almost have to get baking from some place. if Sega teamed up with another company wanting in the market then who knows. but one thing is for sure they would have a very hard time doing it on there own at this point in time.

now if for some really strange reason Apple wanted to get into the market it might seem like a good partnership for both sides. both are innovative companies. also Apple has been trying to get more games on its computers and Iphone. so who knows, maybe if they had a partner like Sega they could put them on Apple computers and a home console too. i for one would like to see this happen. but it won't lmao

anyone else have partnership ideas that Sega would work well with?

Sega & EA would be a good match if EA still considering making their own console as previously reported this year. Nintendo, Sony & Microsoft would lose millions if EA did put out it's own console. Madden Football still drives the hardware buying fan base. If the Dreamcast would have had exclusive rights to Madden Football then we would still be playing with some newer version of the Dreamcast console.

Either EA or Mac would be a good marriage! I cannot think of any other direction Sega can take - going solo would not work.

Mac and Sega. Not a bad idea. But, I don't think Mac has what it takes to boost Sega in the console market.

I would say EA and Sega. I think that would be a success team right there. As much as I don't like EA, they have powerful licenses that could put a Sega console on top with it's exclusive games. Ea also has powerful resources and tools, of course.

But Sega and Sammy are one right now. And they obviously aren't doing very well from a fan's point of view.

I think Sega and EA is better cuz it would be awsome to see the need for speed games and maybe nfl street on the DC.
