Will SEGA make a new console off of thier next arcade board?

This topic will pretain to any information or rumor that anyone has pointing to a new SEGA console. Please, NO flamebaiting. Or you'll be sorry you ever did

SEGA has a new arcade board called "SEGADRIVE" in development. The board is set to be unveiled at JAMMA 2011 this September. There is some evidence pointing to them designing a console variant. The console may launch in mid 2012.

Anyone sensible can freely post what evidence or theories they have, reguardless of the source.

My sensible and non-flame baiting theory is that they won't be developing a console version.

May I see some of your evidence that it will be unveiled in September 2011 and that they're developing a console variant that doesn't come from SegaLeaks?

Because Imagination Tech is a UK based europeon tech company known for thier history of working with SEGA there's no question unto how a bulgarian website would leak this out since this source is from Europe. Thats why.

I think I have an idea about what that patent might mean ... or what at least it portains too. I think it means that there will be a network with servers that can connect computers, arcades and video game consoles together so people can play together regulardless of what they are using (comp,arcade or console). I am not quite sure why the DC is there, but I think it may point to a sign where SEGA may bring a console to home, or at least a virtual one.

Anyway, in the thread that got locked, I pointed out that the one patent was filed in Japan in 2001. I think it was somewhat for Outtrigger, because I believe the arcade cabs of Outtrigger were internet linked. They probably tried to work it into the Dreamcast version too.

Actually Sega hasn't officially signed any licensing agreements with ImgTech since 2004.
