Zoom 3095 connection issues

Hi there, I just joined! I'm very excited to get my dreamcast up and running. I just recently built in a voltage regulator to a zoom 3095. It still powers on, the voltage reads correctly, and the dreamcast didn't blow up when I tried to dial it.

I am using DreamPi on a raspberry pi 3, default settings with the exception of wifi configuration. I have also tried ethernet.

The problem seems to be the pi, as when I connect the modem it lights up for a second then goes blank. I can't connect using the number according to the dreamcast, and I'm fresh out of patience and ideas.

Could anyone point me in the right direction on how to fix this issue?

After some quick troubleshooting (thanks to Scrivani) we've discovered no matter how much you do everything right, none of it works if the modem is dead. Which it very much is. New one on the way, wish me luck!

Mine ended up being dead too, it initially worked and stopped about a day of running the Pi. What did you do afterwards? I think this model of modem has some kind of defect.
