GDEMU on dreamcast v0 with 5v to 3.3v stepdown?

Post by skrapps »

Hi everyone, I'm new to modding the dreamcast, i have modded other consoles before. i have decent soldering skills, but not really savy when it comes to understanding the electrical side of things. I have a v0 dreamcast, which upon reading about it, learned that the voltage is too high and could potentially ruin the gdemu. i did some digging, and saw the work around with replacing the 7 transistors on the motherboard, which i can do, no problem. However, i thought about it, and maybe it might be easier, if possible, to just solder in a 5v to 3.3v step down converter? is this possible? would anyone know if so? and where to solder it in? Image

Thanks
