A Couple of DreamPi Questions

Hi there, I'm getting excited about obtaining some DreamPi components for Christmas and heading online. I do however have a couple of questions in terms of assembling the gear:

• I'm quite keen to customise my own case for my DreamPi, and I've noticed some Raspberry Pi 3 cases have vents, and others don't. Are vents necessary for operating a DreamPi? Does it reach temperatures that necessitate ventilation?
• I've taken note of the two recommended USB voice modems for assembling a DreamPi, but I can't find them for sale anywhere online - I have a feeling they've been discontinued. Can anyone recommend a modern USB voice modem that works with their setup?
