Your logic has points, but is still basless. SEGADRIVE is definetly likely the next name to be choosen for an arcade boards.
The reason why the mark has remained unused is the same reason why the Playstation 3 trademark remained unused for 6 years.(It was originally filed in December 1999 FYI.) The mark is still being planned to be used in the future. Trademark have time limits, most of them can only remained unused for 7 years, all trademarks must be renewed every 8 years or else the patent office will cancel it.
Your post about software trademark is irrelavant as well. Software trademarks are too common to be considered relavant its not out of the ordinary for them to get cancelled. Most only sit unused for less the five years before the company abandons them.
I understand your trying to prove that you are right and that no SEGA speculation could be true, the trouble is that until the rumors are debunked by SEGA themseleves, your running into redundancy trying to debunk it, which is wasting your time because there's no proof that its false or its 100% true.
When someone speculates something, they try to see what would happen if it were to come true, or theorize on if could be true.
Also, please don't put words in people's mouths. That's considering trolling.
