Ubisoft seemed to use Gameloft servers for their online titles (Speed Devils Online, POD, Racing Simulation 2). It seems like Ubisoft just put the game out there unannounced and failed to tell Gameloft. Once the Dreamcast had been discontinued, a lot of crazy things happened. For example, my local GAME store completely ignored the "street release" date of Shenmue 2 and just put the game on the shelf.
