i just noticed my dc showing a somewhat greenish picture when using my vga box, is it dying on me?
Edit: colour returns to normal when I wiggle the cable, this helps, but as far as I see it is only a temporary solution

Re: VGA box dying?
Which model VGA device do you have? It can be a faulty wire, dust or debris on the pcb etc. Take it apart and inspect it.

It's an official one, so it's very old
I already cleaned the tip of the cable with some alcohol, and the port in my DC also.

Re: VGA box dying?
Doubt its a problem with the video port of your console or the connector tip for tha matter. The issue should on the pcb board housed with your vga box.

Are you using an offical vga box? ~:|mazonemayu wrote:It's an official one, so it's very old
I have the same problem with my Brooklyn vga box. Guess it's a fault wire but every solder point looks good. Could be a broken cable too.

Re: VGA box dying?
I already mentioned a few possibilities... "sigh"
Look for wires not connected to the pcb board. Any dirt or hairs on the board. Blow it carefully with compressed air can. I once purchase a vga cable for DC prewoned with the same issue. Took it apart and found there was a dead spider lying on the pcb. Blew the board with air can. Issue gone. Working good again.
