Aleron Ives wrote:When you say "it" asked you for IP and TCP port, do you mean Toy Racer asked? That's a bit odd.
Yup, I thought it was strange as well. It makes it really easy to connect to a private server so no complaints from me!

Just gave it a try and it just kept dialing, did not ask for anything :?
If your using a BBA, as i mentioned in my original post at dcserv.org there are some difficulties when using DHCP. Sometimes its stuck at dialing, other times it works perfect and asks for IP and PORT right away. Try clearing your isp settings and setting it up again with Planetweb 3 or something. OR, you could try a static ip setup.

Modem users may need to wait for Dreamcast to finish his DreamArena server project, which may be finished this weekend. When using the broadband adapter, it skips the dreamarena authentication.

An other option is to redirect the DNS to a Toy Racer server in your Dreamcast setup so that it skips the dreamarena connection.

Igor Isaias Banlian wrote:The ToyServer.txt file looks like this:

chmod -x ToyServer

When the right is to be like this:

chmod +x ToyServer

We already have a Brazilian server running (Dreamcast Brasil Toy Racer Server):

IP: 200.165.140.20

Note: In GNU/Linux 64-bit distributions, the server depends on the file ld-linux.so.2 (multilib repository):

In 64-bit distributions based on Debian, do as follows:

sudo dpkg --add-architecture i386
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install libc6:i386

petter3k, the server source code is available somewhere? I wish I could edit it under the GNU GPL or under the BSD license or MIT license! :D

Sorry for my bad English!

Yes I am aware of the mistake in the original .txt, but chose to not alter it because its written by the original developers (for historical reasons).

Bug confirmed on Gentoo and Arch x64.

The binary is written for SunOS and Solaris Unix, so may have bugs when ran on a Linux box.

I suggest trying it out on a FreeBSD server, or wait for the Windows version.

Sourcve code is not available at the moment but may be soon. All up to developers.

I havent tested it with a modem, but it might work if one redirect the DNS to a real toy racer server instead of the DreamArena authentication server.

If that doesnt work, modem users will have to wait for the DreamArena server project which may be finished this weekend.
