Before anyone says, "Google is Your Friend" I have to say Google is being a soft spoken friend right now. I've been doing a lot of trial and error and between burner, write speed and CDR brand, I think I'm doing everything correctly.
I'm wondering if perhaps it's my Dreamcast that's to blame. I heard that some Dreamcasts (later ones?) don't support CDRs or at least self booting ones. If this is so, can someone tell me if there is a model number I should be looking for on my DC unit? Maybe determine if I simply don't own the right unit.

Re: Dreamcast Compatibility with CDRs
Rev2 Dreamcast (some of the last batches produced) units, at least some of them aren't MIL CD compatible. If you have a US DC, look underneath the unit for a cirlced single digit number (a 0, 1, or 2). If you don't have rev 2 then your doing some wrong when burning games onto a CD.this is so, can someone tell me if there is a model number I should be looking for on my DC unit? Maybe determine if I simply don't own the right unit.

Thanks for the feedback. I checked and it's 1. I think I figured out the issue though. Looks like it works!

Re: Dreamcast Compatibility with CDRs
My Dreamcast has no shell there is a ton of dust, probably not a ton of dust but I would not eat anything near it or smell it because my nose would just be dust. It's been playing CD-R's for a long time now over its entire lifespan or until CD burnt games where common enough to pick up at the dodgy caravan sites.

THIS IS HOW IT ALWAYS ENDS
