Pretty easy just 4 screws and a couple connections to the mobo, hard drive, etc.

is it all fairly standardize interms of sizes and fits? I'm looking at getting a 750w for £28... sound reasonable? at least then in future if I ever want any upgrades that require more power I have it and £28 isn't a lot

You will be looking for an ATX PSU. Manufacturers often inflate there ratings so the wattage is not of as much importance as is the amperage.

IE A quality 500W PSU may have 45A on the 12V while a low quality 750W for example may have only 25A. I would recommend getting a PSU with atleast 30A on the 12V rail.

Some quality brands are Seasonic, Antec, Corsair. 80-Plus rated is good too.

EDIT: Although not a great power supply the 750W you linked has enough amperage. But it only has 1 graphics connector and you need 2, but you can get an adapter for molex to six pin.

The Corsair CX500 V2 you linked will work great And it has the 2 PCI-E connectors you need.

The power supply is the most important part of a system so its good your getting a quality unit.

sounds good, so that PSU, will it be ok for the graphics card? I mean the graphics card description said a minimum of 500w is required. this is turning into a slight pain in the arse lol I'm also worried about the size and if its going to fit with my case but I guess it should be fine right?

Yes the power supply will work fine. They say 500W because of the crappy power supplies that claim a certain wattage but don't reach that. Really you could run the card on a quality 350W power supply. The CPU-Z thing on my sig is just a validation for my system specs, rather than just saying what I may or may not have.

Okay so here are the connections for your power supply circled...
RED - 24 PIN (on the right hand side of your motherboard)
BLUE - 4 PIN / 8 PIN (top left of your motherboard)
GREEN (2 TOTAL) - 6+2 PIN (on graphics card)
BLACK - MOLEX/SATA POWER. You probably have SATA which is on the right in the picture.


And here is the layout of your motherboard:

So just plug in the 24 pin, the 8 pin (BLUE) should split into to 4 pin connections like so:

So just plug one in.

Then plug both 6+2 (GREEN) into your graphics card:


And then finally your hard drive/dvd whatever.
