I figured it was those boxes with the tiny magnetic strip that make a flap close over them and stay shut. Kind of like what you'd see on a nice toy (i.e. ship model) so that people could check it out without having to touch it, if that makes any sense. But the fact that its upper-cased could point towards it being the publisher.

Yes its like that, you can open the front of the box and it holds the box together with little magnetic strips which are invisible inside the box.

now that I think about it (but its far too late now), I'd really wanted this game to have the option for scan lines

its basically a single row of pixels generated by old CRT/TV devices, there's simulators for it now, as obviously with LCD/LED/Plasma it has become obsolete. but it adds that old style arcade feeling in any game imo
