I'm having some problems completing a burn for a selfboot image made with TuxTheWise's tutorial over at SOR (I thought I'd post here because there's a lot of you who are very knowledgeable, and I'll probably get a faster response). CDRecord burned the audio.raw with no problems at all.
There doesn't seem to be any problem with creating the ISO file structure. When I look at the fixed.iso, all of the files are in the proper place. When I try to burn the iso (I'm burning data.iso, the guide seems to purely refer to data.iso after checking the LBA order of the files) with CDRecord, it's basically telling me it's having an error with my cuesheet.
I don't understand this error. There's not a separate cuesheet. It's an ISO. Is it referencing something wrong with the file structure of the ISO itself?
If it helps at all, I'm trying to construct a stand alone disc of the English translation of Super Street Fighter II X that's included in that 5-in-1 fighting game disc.
This problem seems to be happening with all of the different versions of CDRecord that I've tried as well.

Re: CDRecord Problems
This error seems to imply that something went wrong during the mkisofs step of data.iso, with the -C parameter to be more precise. What second session start do you have? The standard 11702 or the pretty rare 11700?
Just to be 100% sure, have you used the -multi flag when burning the Audio.Raw? I guess cdrecord would complain about the layout if that one was missing...

Re: CDRecord Problems
I came up with 11702, and I did use the multi flag.
I'm going to try a more recent version of mkisofs and see what happens.
No dice there, either. I have no idea what's going on.
Some more info:
The dummy file is the proper size. It doesn't ask to overburn.
The same thing occurs if I'm using the list.txt to sort the files or if I don't use it at all.
I tried doing it without the dummy file; same result.
I'm not sure if these .isos typically show up as corrupt or not. I tried mounting one and it says it's corrupt.
Someone commented on Tux's guide to try to use the CDI4DC app included in BootDreams. This is nonresponsive with my .iso as well.

Re: CDRecord Problems
The Data/Data 45000 method isn't working with my drive either. Same cuesheet error when burning the second session.

Re: CDRecord Problems
mkisofs version actually doesn't matter, because cdrecord should burn the second .iso regardless it's right or wrong. I mean, if you get a .mp3 song and rename it to .iso, you should be able to record it as second session.
Try last cdrtools (Win32 Binaries: http://www.student.tugraz.at/thomas.plank/). If it doesn't work, chances are that:
1) The syntax you're using is wrong.
2) Problem is somehow drive related.

Re: CDRecord Problems
If you try a 1gb image it should try to burn it anyway. It's not image size related.comradesnarky wrote: The dummy file is the proper size. It doesn't ask to overburn.
This is not relevant to the problem you're having. The same thing occurs if I'm using the list.txt to sort the files or if I don't use it at all.

It says it's corrupted because it tries to solve LBA using 0 as base, and mkisofs has created it using 11702 (or whatever you used). To mount it, you have to use isofix.exe. It will basically pad the .iso so references will get correct to whatever program is reading the .iso.I'm not sure if these .isos typically show up as corrupt or not. I tried mounting one and it says it's corrupt.
Please notice that you must NOT isofix.exe the .iso before burning.
You might have problems with these auto image makers for commercial games. Usually they assume the binary is scrambled, therefore they use an IP.BIN to that, and things doesn't work.Someone commented on Tux's guide to try to use the CDI4DC app included in BootDreams. Re: CDRecord Problems
Thanks for the help, Tux. I figured I'd list all those things anyways in case they might be changing something or introducing an error somewhere. Anyways, I decided it was a drive issue. I tried so many times and checked my syntax repeatedly. I can't believe after that many tries it was human error, so I surrendered.
