The way I see it is that if this was an intentional typo and was supposed to signify either the announcement or release of some kind of new Sega console, then why is it that NONE of the mainstream videogame websites picked up on it yet?

It seems to me that some of the expectations on here are becoming a bit unrealistic and people are going to end up bitterly disappointed when July 19th comes round and the game is released, BUT there's no hardware announcement.

But to be polite and answer your question...

If Walmart has already gone to the expense of printing off thousands of copies of this advert, I really doubt that they would throw them all away and start again, just because the person who created it screwed up and added SEGA next to PS3 and XBOX. If they are aware of the mistake then they probably notified SEGA of the mistake and SEGA probably told them to leave it on there.

Its also entirely possible that NO ONE, either with Walmart or SEGA, has noticed the screwup (with the exception of the 5 or 6 posters on here obviously). Asking your local Walmart store's manager probably isn't going to get you very far either as they aren't going to know anything about it, all that happens in these big stores is that they get sent these poster adverts and are told where to either hang them or stick them, nothing else.

In my opinion the only thing you are going to get from Sega by going on their facebook page and asking about this advert is to end up making yourself sound crazy, since SEGA probably isn't even aware of the typo either.

Its for this very reason why Sega kills all of the speculation threads relating to a new Sega console, they build up people's level of expectation WAY too high and then people end up disappointed when nothing happens, even though Sega has always said there is NO NEW CONSOLE.

Yeah I agree its weird, but obviously not weird enough for any of the people who posted the 39 comments below to notice it. Also if you look it seems that who ever uploaded that article posted it to an old location for the Seaman game on the Dreamcast

Back to the Walmart ad for a moment, another thing about the typo is that it really isn't a serious error, I mean adding SEGA next to PS3 and XBOX really is quite small, its not like the date is wrong or anything! Certainly not serious enough to want to go through the hassle of reprinting the poster again.

1) To me it looks like a WII laying down
2) The controller looks kinda like a wiimote. We know for sure its not a wiimote and not the WiiU controller.

Hmm... Interesting! Atleast somebody posted about it!
It deffantly does not look like a dreamcast .. it looks like the Wii. IF this is sega's console, I might just be disapointed. I really really do not want another Wii ... or one that looks like one.

Now .. the experiemental SEGA aracde is in a walmart in texas .. Maybe that gives us a clue? I mean they have a ton of wii's in the aracde .. those can be replaced with sega's new console and or kidspad. So maybe SEGA is modeling their new console after the wii?
