Just before my recent financial crisis I did get my hands on something very noteworthy.

A few weeks back I had chosen to sell my red genesis and red Saturn with wireless controllers. This was sad due to their awsomeness, but the best choice since I had all of that same hardware, including 3 (three!) pairs of official Saturn controllers (one set of Japanese whites, two of pal blacks.). The last set I had traded for was a boxed pair of pal with instructions and all, so now I have on display the Japanese and pal set, and have for play use (the lowest quality / most used condition)) another pal set.

I was rather fond of my red controller, and am currently working out a deal to get a single (recieverless) white Japanese controller, to replace one I have with sunfading. Hopefully the region won't mater and this will work with the pal reciever, as I wouldn't feel bad painting a surfaced yellow controller.

I got quite a weird buy yesterday. My 19" monitor broke and was out of warranty so was searching the high street for a replacement. I came across this store which had what looked like a standard Sony Bravia 3 22" monitor in the window. The spec looked good:Internet enabled, 4 HDMI's, 3 USB's for movies/pics/music, component, scart, vga etc All for £199 !

But the real weirdness came to light when I looked closely at the stand. It was an inbuilt PS2 I thought to myself that I had missed out completely on the PS2 during it's lifetime(I had DC, GC & XBOX) so maybe this was the ideal time to buy this hybrid box. Five minutes later I exited the store with my arms full.

On the way home I called in at Gamestation where they had PS2 games at £15 for six. I bought Bully, Fahrenheit, Devil May Cry, Soul Reaver 2, Beyond Good and Evil and Tomb Raider Angel of Darkness. I also snapped up an unbranded wireless controller for £3.99.

Did I buy something good or have I bought a redundant pile of crap ? I'd like to know what people think !

The ps2 was built hardware wise into the tv? That's pretty cool, like that laserdisc with the genesis/Megadrive built in. Nice price too, new ps2 still run around $120 to 150 usd.

BTW, the Tv is a Sony Bravia PX300|22 in case anyone wants more details.

Macabre, I know of the PC with inbuilt Megadrive/Genesis. I think it had was an Intel 286 chip model. I've never heard of the Laserdisc one.

The price on that thing new, and today, is absolutely ridiculous. Also none cares to direct the genesis unit and see what sort of chips it uses, nor comment on the audio out with games (if your familiar with the many revisions of genesis boards and how some have absolutely crap sound and rainbow banding). So with its price tag, it might also be just as bad as a low quality genesis.

But with betamax and sega cd playback too? Yea I still want one.

I got some thing new.

I'm so very tempted to use this and start making a short Rappy fan-film, including a car chase scene and lots of explosions.

I don't even have a psp, but the dlc code this thing has (providing a Rappy umbrella similar to Madams Parasol from PSO), makes me want to play the game.

I went to Gamestation today to buy a ps2 memory card for my Tv/ps2 hybrid and came out with.......another ps2 ! It's a late model silver slimline with stand and controller. Mint condition and fully boxed for £29.99 Also bought Acoustic Research high quality component cable for £7.99. OMG, Soul Reaver 2 on the projector screen, I'll be in videogame heaven tonight.
