Where to get a replacement shell?

Post by brandonsh »

I recently acquired a Dreamcast for £15. It works lovely but the casing is in pretty bad shape. I love the console and I'd love to give it a restore, but I can't find a replacement shell. I've looked on eBay to no avail, so I figured I'd ask here!

Thanks in advance.

Every link I had for new shells in various colours are now showing as out of stock. Maybe you could get a non working donor DC off ebay for peanuts.

Post Offices do things by weight, right? A shell wouldn't cost much, surely? ;)

I'm on a mission now. I shall find one at some point.

The other option is to restore the one you have. Take the shell off, find some fine filler, or a substance that will suitably cover/repair any dents/cracks in the shell, sand the filler down and respray.

It saves a DC shell somewhere, and gives you nice options for custom paint jobs.

Unless you're looking for restoring it back to its original state, of course. I'm all for preserving the original case where possible :)
There is no argument that cannot be resolved in the Quake arena !

You ain't looking pal,

quick search on ebay came up with this, http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/SEGA-DREAMCAST-CO ... 3a651812ff

How bad a shape is the old case in?? as i could do with a case to try and bit of modding on,
