I think you should be able to. Not 100% on that
though, so I'll have to check into it.

Yes, US version caracters work with the PAL version, the only problem is that you can't create new caracters because your system keeps the US serial, not the PAL one. Maybe you can create a new one with US ver. 1, then convert it with PAL v2, but I'm not sure. Btw, why don't you guys try to play with v.1? Even if I have PAL v2, I went online with v.1 a few times and managed to play a few games. Other than the bug fixes and the quick R-trigger/Y menu, the game is pretty similar. There are a few quests for it as well. I play once in a while and make rooms compatible with v1 and v2, I hope to see you there.

I am a BBA user. PAL v1 is dial-up only. Aside from
that, v1 does not include Ultimate mode. So, it really
would not be any funny and very pointless. What's my
level 110 going to do in V-Hard, now come on...

PSO v1 does support broadband. You just need to set your bba settings with US v2, then you can use it with PSO v1. And forget your lvl 110 caracter, you would have to make a new one. And while not many people play using v1, some people create rooms that allow v1 and v2, even if they play with their pc. I went online a few times and I could get into games (and I am using bba). Of course, if you get PAL v2, use that instead, but until then, v1 is good enough.

Everytime I get v1, it turns out to be the JAP version,
which can't go online at all. Also, I'm not going to start
all over, it's not worth my time. Playing online at that
point would be pretty boring & frustrating. Not many people
play v1, v1 does not have ULT mode, so, it would be immesnly
boring after about 10 minutesor less. And, I don't
see why everyone keeps saying that. There is no point to
playing v1 if you have already gotten so far. I've already
had to start over a few times, I'm not doing it AGAIN....

This is good info. Playing the game without Ultimate mode is better than not playing at all. I've noticed that Crono never updates the news or the website since the HL server demise. He's really letting Schthack's work go down a bit from what I see. Their Dreamcast online support is outdated and incomplete.

EU V2 Was already a rather scarce game even before the official servers went offline. Seems that it has actually managed to become even harder to find a copy of now.
