ItalianGrandma wrote: Mon Jan 13, 2025 10:54 am Kind of a dumb question, but I'll ask anyways....

Does USB4Maple work with a cheap DC>USB adapter so I could just user a standard DC controller with it? I was just thinking that then I could use the virtual VMU feature paired with a regular controller. :?:

I know I could also just plug USB4Maple into another controller slot and plug in another controller, but I was trying to do it without having to use another controller slot (though, I guess it's not really a big deal).
@megavolt85 is not to keen about this setup. Start reading here: viewtopic.php?p=189945#p189945

In theory it could work if:
1) The adapter perfectly emulates a wired xbox 360 controller which the usb4maples recognizes.
2) Or, usb4maple sees the adapter, but firmware support will need to be added.

As far as I know, nobody has tested those cheap adapters from AliExpress.

Makes sense! I almost want to buy one of those adapters to try it, but even the cheap ones from Ali are nearly $20, so I think if anything I'll probably just do the 2nd controller with a virtual VMU setup. I'm also waiting for 8bitmod's VMU Pro, so eventually that'll probably be the solution anyways.

8bitmod's VMU Pro - didn't know about those.

I bought a raspberry pi rp2040 zero , I don't see a v-bus pin , do I use the 5v pin in the top left corner like what I see in photos?

Right now I wired up
Controller / rp2040zero
1 data pin1 / gp14
2 +5v / 5v ? (Can't find a vbus)
3 GND / GND
4 sense / GND (didn't see a NC)
5 data pin5/ gp15

I think that looks right but just in case before I plug anything in and blow something up I wanted to double check

for rp2040 zero 5v is same as vbus on standart rp2040 board
NC is Not Connected, you can not connect sense pin or connect to GND

Oooo thank you , from the pin out I was thinking they ment connect sense to ground , I'll just make sure to cut that wire so it's disconnected, thank you very much for your help .

For the compatibility list, the Japanese Phantasy Star Universe keyboard for PS2/PC connects right out of the box.

I've tried four different hubs and three different flash drives and cannot get vmu emulation to work.
I've got the most recent usb4maple and openmenu versions. I've tried plugging in the flash drive after the controller. Nothing.

One time with one of the flash drives there was a vmu.bin and vmu.bi file created, but it never loaded on the Dreamcast after saving to it once. And it showed empty in vmuexplorer.

Are vmus created as soon as the device is read? I'm trying to figure out the best way to troubleshoot this. If I go to the Dreamcast vmu browser, should I be able to plug a freshly fat32 formatted flash drive in and have a vmu created? Or does it create on game load?

Thanks for any help.

Edit:
I found a flash drive that works. I guess this is really picky about flash drives?

Hi guys, hope all are fine.
Here is my little project 3d printing enclosure for display 1306 to attach to the joypad. The first prototype was created for Xbox 360 Wireless pad, but i plan to create it for PS4, Dual Sense, too.
