It is nice to find this forum and introduce myself.

My first Sega product was the Genesis that I received in Christmas 1993 (Model 2 with Sonic the Hedgehog 2). Unfortunately, the Sega Saturn was too expensive so I missed that one during its lifetime. Later, I eventually bought a Sega Dreamcast Sega Sports edition while working my first job. It felt like my first huge Adult purchase despite my age at the time, and if I remember right, I think it was purchased at an EB Games and I felt the asking price was fair considering the content you received with it. I mean how can you go wrong with two games, a sampler disc and a way to surf the internet? I had also bought a selfboot CD-R set of Shenmue from a friend in class. And then I felt super smart being able to create a boot disc (wasn't there one with a Reindeer? That's the one I remember...) and also getting NesterDC to run.

Eventually at some point I had gotten tired of video games and got rid of most of my consoles aside from ones that my Parents gifted me throughout the years. Fast forward to 2024, when it comes to Sega I finally have a Sega Genesis model 1 (still own the childhood model 2), Sega CD model 1, Sega Saturn, and a Sega Dreamcast (VA0 and VA1). Funny enough when I bought the aforementioned Dreamcast as a teenager, I wanted a black console and couldn't stand the Sega Sports logo. Now, I found myself getting the original released stock colors when possible.

The progression of modding is ridiculously awesome for video game enthusiasts. Currently waiting for a GDEMU to arrive. Been trying to practice soldering to get ready to install a DCHDMI. I feel the same as I did when I first bought the aforementioned Sega Dreamcast. Over the moon...

Thank you again for having a forum to show love for this underappreciated console. It was way ahead of its time. Honestly, I feel that way about all of the Sega systems. I still have a love for Nintendo, but it feels like Sega had this little world of A+ games that eventually became crushed by Nintendo and Sony during their heyday.

Reading Utopia has opened the floodgates. It was indeed that disc and I think a little bit after that time I taught myself to burn selfboot images, so I no longer needed the Utopia disc. I was thrilled to teach myself something new and that following a guide wasn't tough at all.

I must have bought my console late 2000 provided Christmas was near and I got a game or two for it that year. I know a few years later I bought a Nintendo Gamecube (Metroid Prime bundle) and that was released in 2004, so probably grabbed the Gamecube in 2005. The things we research to jog the ol' memory.
