PSO Garon's SHop/Parasite Wear Help

Was hoping this was the right forum for this!

I've been a GC player since the game came out and happily moved to DC this year. I remember trying to hunt down Parasite Wear De Rol Le on the GC and could never get that boss to drop it for some reason.

On the DC, it was almost immediate - I was pretty stoked.
I know from the GC, you could mutate the armor with the 'Parasitic Cell type D'. Is this option available to do on the Dreamcast? Where can one acquire the cell (or several of them to do the complete build)?
If this can't be done, are the upgraded Parasite Wears just random drops?

Also - Photon Points.

I'd like to add some slots to this armor. Are Photon Points only available on the Ultimate setting (it seems to be where I've gotten all of mine so far)? Are there any specific missions you recommend to get quite a few? And that being said - should I start the build from a Stink Frame to get the armor bonuses or does having access to the Garon's Shop make that irrelevant now that defenses can be boosted?

I'm currently playing Ver. 2 but plan on doing the Ives upgrade to the EP pack at some point soon. Does that affect this at all?

I've done a bit of hunting around threads and didn't find all the specific answers yet, although I could dig a little more. Any insights would be seriously appreciated!!

According to Rakel, says EP boosts your drops from start character until unlock Ultimate to revert to non-EP-Ultimate difficulty until 100-130 high enough level, but pardon my memory is fogged I think Ives the author said that it doesn't

DC does not have item combinations. Lafuteria is a box drop in Ruins 3. Photon Points come from Ultimate quests and from selling rares you don't want.
