Re: Jet Grind Radio is back Online!
Hello, thanks for bringing back the Jet Grind Radio website, very cool! I've been wanting to spray my own images in the game like I used to back in 2000! But I've been having a lot of issues trying to make that happen. I'm looking for some advice if possible.
I have the broadband adapter, not a DreamPi, I can go online with the XDP browser, but DC's web browser is so outdated that most websites (especially https) simply won't load. I have the pictures I want on my PC, but I can't find a single website that allows me to upload images to it which the DC browser supports.
GDrive / Flickr / Imgur / Photobucket, none of those work with XDP.
In the past I had a Geocities website, so I uploaded the images there, went online via 56k, press X+A on my pics and it was super easy to do. But these days I can't figure out how to make this possible. For example, AngelFire and Triopod still load on Dreamcast, but they're no longer free sites to use.
Are there any image websites that is compatible with a broadband adapter browser? That's my biggest hurdle at the moment, trying to figure that out. A simple HTML website would be amazing, but I can't find any free one that is compatible.
As for http://seganet.dreampipe.net, its not working for me as well, at least not on PC, is it only supposed to work on JGR built-in web browser? I created an account, but it won't let me log in.

Ill get talk with the dreampipe team about the possibility of allowing pc uploads for art.Chocoburger wrote:Hello, thanks for bringing back the Jet Grind Radio website, very cool! As for seganet, you can create and account but the login on the page itself doesn't work yet. Once you create an account you can however login to jet set radio site and other dreampipe sites.
Ill talk with jial and see if he wants to move foward with account editing on seganet.

Hey Chocoburger,
I have some experience in this area! First off: imgur does work! Right off the bat, it is the only web hosting service I have used (since Jial revived things), and I have saved like 10 images onto my VMUs. This thread you are in however is the initial thread that got me working with JGR. I did make another thread here: https://www.dreamcast-talk.com/forum/vi ... 42&t=11623 Where Xiden helped me as well. And, please share your art in this thread: https://www.dreamcast-talk.com/forum/vi ... 5&start=10
I have never attempted this on BBA, nor do I know of anyone who has, so I am very exited to see. Yes, https will not work, but I know for a fact I got a few images saved onto my VMU on May 27, 2019 haha, so don't lose hope, and do not type in an "s". Idk what to say other than that, it is VERY frustrating at times, but I swear to god.... I have typed in the same URL and it doesn't work for like ten thousand attempts then suddenly... success. Be sure you are only typing in the direct image's URL as opposed to an imgur page's URL that has the image (and gallery thumbnails etc) on it.
It seems your only snag is getting the URL to load. You actually do not need to log in to seganet, dreampipe or anything. Just make sure your image follows this critrea: http://jetgrindradio.dreampipe.net/imagecreation.html boot your DC, connect to the internet, go to the in-game browser and type in your URL, save the image to your VMU (if it is an XLA size, you may need an empty VMU - I have made art that sadly was too big to even be saved on a VMU AT ALL =[ so be aware), and then select it from the garage.
The log in credentials you setup are required for uploading your pics into the online gallery for everyone to access and DL to their VMUs which (and I could be wrong here, idk) does not work. I have tried for so long and in light of actually having JGR images on my VMU, I just gave up. Yes, when you login on the Dreamcast itself, you are directed to a splash page thing that does not populate on PC, again only useful if the gallery worked. It would be a breakthrough gamechanger if the gallery portion of JGR was restored. And if anyone can do it RIGHT NOW, please explain when you have time.

Re: Jet Grind Radio is back Online!
Wow, I got a lot of great responses so quickly!
Since I made my post I learned some more stuff:
AngelFire.com and Tripod.com still work, and I can see images on them on XDP and other JP BBA browsers. I can press X+A to bring up the save image screen as well. I don't want to spend money on an AngelFire or Tripod website however just to host a few pictures for a couple of minutes.
For example, I went to this URL on DC and it loaded up fine, and I pressed X+A on the Shenmue image and it worked no problem!
http://www.angelfire.com/az2/shenmue/
I found a free website hosting service and uploaded my own pictures there (its not https), the DC can load webpage for the images but its completely blank white, which is very strange! The webpage works but the images are invisible, yet another hurdle to figure out.
Here's my website directory where you can see how tiny the pictures are. Not https, and all the images are tiny, but still won't load on DC.
http://chocoburger.byethost4.com/
I've tried 3 browsers so far:
XDP
Dream Passport Premier
Broadband Passport
All of them can load images, except for the ones that I myself have uploaded, which is weird!

I was confused and didn't realize it was only supposed to work on DC, so that's good to know! The problem is that JGR built-in browser only works with 56k, right? This is why I have to use the BBA and XDP for pictures.Xiden wrote: Ill get talk with the dreampipe team about the possibility of allowing pc uploads for art.

Hiya! I actually saw your thread previously! I spent a few hours doing Google Searches trying to figure this whole mess. XDP will not load imgur, even with direct links to the .jpg image, however I'll try again and reload 100 times and see if it finally works. But the built-in JGR browser does work with imgur? Not sure why this is.ERVOSCV wrote: Hey Chocoburger,

Hi everybody. The JGR graphitti must works, please if not, write me to review it. In other hands, all graphitti must be approved to be showed in website. This is not a rule created by myself, original site had that feature, and JGR website is using original code but patched to work with current systems.
About BBA I think that it can work, all site is like a regular website, only needs to write the correct url, in the case of JGR is jetgrindradio.web.dreamcast.com and it must let you login and upload all stuffs available.

Yes BBA should work
As a side note you'll need to set your dreamcast DNS 1 in XDP to 46.101.91.123 for the redirection to work properly.
then navigate to http://jetgrindradio.web.dreamcast.com and it should be good to go. I recommend using the dreamkey XDP style browser for the site
