Dissapointment :'(
No sega on 9/9/09
. I guess we will have to wait for 12/12/12. I guess that would be a better move on sega's end, considering that the 360 ps3 and wii's lifespan will be coming to a close. 12/12/12 would make sence so sega isn't late or early to the party. I would be retarded for sega to release a system in the middle of the video game war.

Re: Dissapointment :'(
Yeah. The market is flooded right now with Different gaming options. Im personally inundated with games right now. I have so many I have only went about 50% thru. This includes, PC, PS3, and Xbox 360. I feel that one of the major players are going to go under eventually if them market gets too saturated.

Re: Dissapointment :'(
Valid points here. All I could think about at work this morning was "what if Sega jumped back into the hardware business?" So detailed were my musings that I envisioned a new console, dark blue with the company logo and shaped like a sphere (except flat on the bottom). It played CDs and DVDs just like the Dreamcast might have done (if Sega had had the money to include that feature, which they didn't) as well as games, and had some killer exclusive launch titles, including the best 3D Sonic game since Adventure. I thought up a commercial for them too, with people screaming "Sega" and everything...
It'll never happen, but if Sega were to come out with a new console, they would have a good chance of success. There's a market and an audience that none of the three big systems have totally captured. The PS3 has the hardware, but not the software (yet), plus it's too expensive and a lot of people don't care about blu-ray yet. The 360 has the software but not the hardware (the RROD will forever haunt that console). The Wii has both the software and the hardware, but many of the most committed gamers (i.e. the audience Sega often succeeded with) don't take it seriously and probably never will. For various reasons, none of these systems is a true gamer's machine. One of many reasons why I miss the real Sega...they're still making their games now, but it's just not the same.
I wonder what they would call their system. "Nomad" would be perfect, if it weren't already taken by the portable Genesis...
