I made a video comparing all three versions of GTA 2 (PC, Dreamcast & PSone).
Video shows all bugs Dreamcast version GTA2. This bugs has only on Dreamcast version GTA2.

Awesome! Supposedly the Dreamcast version can be modded also like the PC version can. So it would be great to see some mods that for instance change the perspective to a more traditional game.

I believe it was discussed about adding for instance the map of GTA 1 or vehicles or new mission packs. Somebody here made a thread about it some years back.

That being said, the PSX version of GTA 1 also works on Dreamcast nigh perfectly via Bleem beta. You just can;t save, use analog or see FMV's, but otherwise it renders and runs perfect.

Start reading from here, it tells a little about what kind of mods one can do. Maybe the textures just have to be converted for PVR format or something?

Modding GTA 2 on DC would be something fun to see. At least a camera perspective mod possibly via Codebreaker/GameShark codes?

What you think guys, it's possible to fix radio bug (when you enter in car radio start play from beginning) without source code?

Probably, but you'd need somebody who can debug DC games and knows enough about SH4 to find the broken function and fix it. You'd also need to find some free memory to store the new code, as the fact that the radio resets probably means your current position isn't tracked, so you'd have to add code to store the current position and retrieve it later (when you get back into the car).

I think since the game is modable it should be possible to find what code controls the radio like Aleron said, but also it could add more to the memory requirements. 16MB of ram is not much to work with. But I don't see why like a community patch couldn't be made for this game adding things back like damage, car headlights and a few more of the PC improvements or later PC patches?

Pretty much all console versions of GTA can be modded with their PC mods to some extent. Not so sure about the PSX versions due to much lower specs though but wouldn't surprise me if it was.

If community make patch fixed this bugs, it's will be awesome!
Very sad that Rockstar maked GTA2 for Dreamcast with this bugs. :(

@IvanGR did you use CDR or legitimate GD-ROM of GTA2 for the video? great work making the demonstration either way

i assumed the radio reset would be caused by an LBA issue, where the LBA is incorrect as the game see's and just resets from the beginning. but if ivangr used GD-ROM i guess not...

it just doesn't make sense that if a studio went through ALL the trouble to get the WHOLE GAME and hardware specific stuff functional(saving to VMU), but they wouldn't go fix less than 10 lines of code for audio playback in a vehicle. maybe it really is an LBA issue that occurred during disc printing\pressing?

I use Original PAL GDI image on Demul. I 100% sure this bug has in licenced game disc. And Anthony817 write in assemblergames

hmm, maybe the DCRES release i have used PAL GDROM as the source? might be worth a shot checking NTSC GDI?
