Hey all,

I get this disc read error with a game I bought recently. I check the discs but I don't see any huge scratches. The thing is it only happens with this one game, has anyone else had the same error?

The game in question is actually Under Defeat. I have been giving it a lot of playtime for a review on my site but the disc looks fine...?

Interesting, so the game seems to work perfectly today. I wonder if all games have that debug message?

Headhunter does. Everything works now?

Seems to be sporadic. Interesting as I've never seen it before.

Jenkins> Does this kind of error usually mean the disc is scratched or is it more of a laser issue?

The laser I guess. The game can't read all needed data and aborts. The data side looks good? Nothing scratched?

Yeah, nothing really although other games seem okay. I guess Under Defeat might be quite laser intensive?

It is a shame as its a newly acquired special edition unit!

could there be something wrong with the drive? I've had a similar issue of my disk not reading but I don't remember seeing a message like that before.

Does this happen with any other games? Could be the lens just needs some proper cleaning. Remember not to use alcohol or harsh cleaners will damage the lens. But rather refer to this post right here!
