Some Japanese Dreamcast Games Don't Work For Me via DC-X?

I recently bought a japanese dreamcast game (Sengoku Turb FanFan) and using DC-X to play it on my Pal console, I put in the Game and the Disc seems to load but only to a the Sega screen then a black screen before the Dreamcast restarts. I've had sometihng similar with a Japanese Dreamcast game loading to a black screen then turning off before.

Does anyone else have this problem? Is it the game or Dc-x that isn't working? I know some games won't show properly with the wrong video settings, but I didn't think It would cause the Dreamcast to restart.

I know also that there are two Sengoku Turb games
, I was wondering if pherhaps this game is an expansion disc or something for the first and thats why it doesn't work

If anyone can help, thanks in advance, David

I don't really know too much about what DC-X really does…

But, I know there's some games that, at least when ripping them, won't work on a PAL console without hacking the binary.

Just as an example, the US version of Silver checks the region of the console after the game has been running for a while. Once it gets past the company logos, IIRC. I have the PAL BIOS on my US Dreamcast and my NTSC-U copy of Silver won't work on it. I also have a mod chip in my Dreamcast so I don't have to bother with region stuff and boot discs, but it still happens.

I'd recommend either…

A) Finding another boot disc online, maybe give Utopia a shot.

B) Just downloading a CDI of the game and seeing if it works on your console. It sucks that you bought the game, but this may be your only way to play it.

Give Gameshark disc (or it's PAL equivalent) or Cheats n' Codes disc a shot. They usually provide better results than Utopia.

yeah I use Cheats N Codes myself and have never run into a game that wouldn't boot for me.
