what graphics chips would you like to see in the DC2?
From what I've heard, SEGA is once again turning to Imagination Tech for graphics. This time, the chip will be way more powerful than its contenders and will be more developer friendly.altecgodofchaos wrote:what graphics chips would you like to see in the DC2?
That's correct. All 3 of these boards use Nvidia. Problem is, the way SEGA sees it, Nvidia doesn't offer the cutting edge graphics they are looking for. While it may seems like a good idea on paper, it probably would still be a budgetwise issue for developers.Jenkins wrote:SEGA Chihiro, Lindbergh, Ringedge... they are all coming with a nVidia. So I would say Nvidia.
I also prefer Nvidia (currently running an 8800 GT OC 1GB).
Mircosoft is set to annouce thier next console as well. If not E3 then sometime this summer.Hiryosuke wrote:Yeah I believe that the general consensu is that nvidia is costly and costly parts make costly consoles and those dont to so well in this economy (ps3 at launch)...anyone lookin to launch a console would probably be lookin for the cheapest comparable parts they can find...that is to say relevant parts that r cheap and jus barely up to speed to keep console costs down and keep the platform attractive...its interesting nintendo's releasing their next hardware...I'm wondering really what MS is gonna do...the ps3 still has more untapped poetential but the 360 has been showin its age for the past 3 years...I see sony droppin their prices (begrudingly since they jus got profitable on the consoles sold end) to keep the ps3 attractive and bankin on software install base and psn...MS is gonna need a new console soon...ppl keep doubting it but they could very well steal the show at e3 by announcing the 360 successor...

The official codename has been finalized. It goes by the codename project "Bulldozer" since there's leaked info that the next Xbox will be powered by AMD Bulldozer CPU, not much info is known except that development kits were sent out for in February of this year according to Gamespot which is a very pro Xbox website., CAFE development kits date back to last fall. And if SEGA is launching a console off of SEGADRIVE, they probably sent out Japanese kits last summer and Western kits currently as we speak.
