Games that are hard to find in CDI format...

Hello friends.

I've been looking for two games in CDI format for a while now, but I can't find them anywhere currently.

They are "Jet Set Radio", the first Japanese version, and "De La Jet Set Radio", the most recent version of the game.

The first has some differences that I would like to try and the second is the definitive and most complete version of the game.

I have no alternative but to burn a disc and run it on the real console. I know that YZB does an excellent job with their CDI conversions, but I don't like having everything already unlocked in the game.
The 99 minute version of "De La" isn't viable for me, so I need an 80 minute version to burn onto a standard CD.

I would really appreciate it if someone could help me.
I played them both recorded on CD a long time ago and I'm sad I can't find them again now.

A "De La Jet Set Radio" CDI appears to be available on CDRomance: https://cdromance.org/dc-iso/de-la-jet-set-radio-japan/

Just click "Find Links" towards the bottom of the page. Both 99-minute CD-R and standard CD-R CDIs are listed.

(EDIT: I now see you said you don't want a version with everything unlocked, disregard.)

Regarding the NTSC-J release of "Jet Set Radio", I wasn't able to find it either. A CDI can be built, but downsampling of audio is required, as well as a removal of all Dream Passport assets (seen below) to save space.

The ADX audio files that need to be downsampled are in the "JETADX" folder. I am not an expert on the best way to do this, especially because there can be numerous quirks with ADX samples. However, a quick Google search yielded this guide: http://fuzzcast.styx.feralhosting.com/T ... 0files.pdf

There are also some ADX utilities here: https://github.com/esc0rtd3w/dreamcast- ... lities/ADX

Milwaukee City Council tried to get this game cancelled.

FYI Regional Differences: https://segabits.com/blog/2012/03/09/th ... al-rumble/

Variants are an excellent reason/justification to get an ODE.

I'm not sure about De La Jet Set Radio, but the first Japanese scene release of Jet Set Radio required a boot disc and was in the bin+cue format. Most cdi images online are sourced from older scene releases. I don't think there ever was an official scene release of the Japanese Jet Set Radio except for that first boot disc version - which would explain why you can't find it so easily? That was the very first rip of Jet Set, which makes me feel all nostalgic as I type this.

I was about to sell my Dreamcast because I was broke and there was nothing that really appealed to me at that time. I still vividly remember my friend coming round to visit with the Utopia boot disc and that rip of Jet Set (complete with ultra-garbled sound in the loading screens) and told me I didn't have to pay for games anymore :)

And some 20+ years later - I 'finally' got round to making a serious attempt at completing it. I'm up to the 'golden rhinos' missions. I did finish Jet Set Radio Future back in the day which I remember being considerably easier?

Such an amazing game then and now. I'd call it a work of art but that would be understating just how damned good it is.

turns out there was a selfboot scene release by Frosty. it can be found in the link in the Scene Release thread ( viewtopic.php?t=15107 ), in the year 2000 folder.
