Hi,

I have Pi3B+ with usb modem (setup with wifi) and it wont connect to internet. I have dreampi 1.7 installed and boots fine. When I connect, i get no dial tone.

I think its the usb modems I'm using.
Does anyone have any luck or can provide troubleshooting details? Can someone provide a screenshot of the Raspi on boot since I'm not entirely sure whether 1.7 is in listening mode?

Mega is the white modem supported? I dont have a line volt inducer and I think its the reason why I can't get a dial tone. Do you have a dreampi setup? I'm tryin to get online for PSO

The white modem looks like one I have that works. If both lights on the modem light up after a complete boot, then it should work. You still need a line voltage inducer though.

both lights doesn't light up after boot. The modem is from HiRO

@pcwzrd13 do you have the dreamcast live modem?

Yeah then either the DreamPi software isn't booting up correctly or the modem is incompatible.

I have PAL line voltage inducers in stock but no modems.

darn, I'm from the USA, i have no line voltage inducer, do you know any other way to get online with the DC? Also, I would like to purchase a Dreamcast live modem once its available, please add me to the waiting list :/

I guess you have USA modem on your Dreamcast. if its revision B on the sticker on the bottom of it it should work w/o line voltage inducer. Also there is a guy in Moscow who made compatible black modems with line voltage inducers built in inside of them. I bought one from him for a cheap but im in Russia too and i dont know if he's shipping outside. His youtube https://www.youtube.com/user/jmuhodrive try to PM him.
