Quake 3 connection issues

Hello! Setup my dreampi for the first time today, used the dreamcast web browser disc to configure settings. Got 4x4 evo, PSO and alien front online to connect, but could not get quake 3 to connect I used the same login info that I used to configure the browser. anybody have any ideas?

EDIT: bought a physical version of the game and it works fine
