I'm sure MANY people have asked this before, but lately i've really been wondering whether or not games like Marvel Vs. Capcom 2, Street Fighter 3, etc, will ever have a chance of being able to get their servers back on somehow.

Not impossible but very difficult. From what I understand you'd have to figure out how the Japanese phone system worked.

Yeah, the other guys are right. That might be kinda tough to do. But it is possible though.
Vampire Chronicles For Matchmaking Service aka. Darkstalkers for the dreamcast, is another online fighting game too.

Street Fighter 2
Street Fighter Zero 3
Street Fighter III 3rd Strike
Marvel Vs Capcom 2
Power Stone 2
Vampire Chronicles
All these games use the same online system. If the code was cracked for one, the others would become playable. But as mentioned above, figuring out the Japanese telephone system of the 90s is the big challenge, as these titles didn't use TCP/IP connections like Western titles did.

Power Stone 2 online would be amazing for sure.
I don't know about the others, playing Third Strike over dial up sounds painful considering how technical and punishing that game is. I'm genuinely curious how well it worked.
