Yeah I think its been a proven fact that MrSega doesn't know what he's talking about pretty much everywhere on the web that he posts.

stu was kind enough to answer and lay down the facts for ya. (Thanks btw stu).
You're welcome CD AGES, it sounded like MrSega was BSing again, sure enough he was!
Comrade Snarky wrote:I don't know, we were all just seeing how far down the rabbit hole goes, I think. It goes pretty far.
Yeah it sure does, with MrSega its pretty much bottomless!
BTW I'm still wondering MrSega... WTF is Mulberry?

I remember seeing a photo if that in the Fall TGS report in EGM #124 November 1999.
In fact, I still have that old issue.
Good for you. The Zip Drive was seen in many other game publications (ODCM, Retro Gamer etc.).

I also have Issues of Official Dreamcast Magazine as well as some of its old demo GDs.
In case you don't know.
There was no need to be snide and rude.
Once again, the EX Pak is NOT a memory card for N64. N64 already has memory cards that plug in the controller. The EX Pak is designed to procces extra data for N64 so it can read the extra content scored on certain cartridges.
Before you call me a liar, why don't you google it?

I have the source code for a relatively shitty Dreamcast game.
In case you don't know.

Anybody know if prototype DC Zip Drives can be purchased on Ebay? How much will one cost? Will they work on a normal Dreamcast?

Yup. We have a resident expert on everything sega here at dreamcast talk. Just ask mrsega, brah
Edit: but seriously, it's kind of silly how you're asking if it can be obtained on eBay and how much it costs. Both of those answers are linked in this very thread. Yes, and 10,000 USD.
And you're telling people to google information?

Well apparently from articles I read, that dc zip/usb was the only prototype ever made and it sold for $10,000 on ebay in 2007. I could be wrong, but that is what articles suggest.
I just thought it was cool to see a rare dc add on with zip and usb.
And I gave a "hope scenario" for nba2k2 2011 dci files via thumbdrive that probably wouldn't have worked with dc usb anyway lol.
I must say this is the busiest thread I saw here in a while (used to read topics before signing up) and I learned alot from everyone.
I could be wrong, and by all means a expert can correct me, perhaps a 32 gb thumbdrive in 2007 could have been capable with that 2001 dc usb/zip. Perhaps loading and saving could have been took to a new level, but in 2001 or 2002 I think most usb were 4mb to 1-2 gb.
But article says it was for peripherals like maybe a keyboard so idk.

If thats true, then OUCH!
I guess homebrew SD Adapters are a better investment.
