Re: SEGADRIVE, is SEGA planning NEW console with it?
Ok, Here's the Dilly-o (Part Deux)
I came to the conclusion that
1. comradesnarky is partially right because of the facts and figures. Nothing else
2. MrSega is partially right because of the Face the Sega has SOMETHING in the works. Nothing Else
In other words...
When MrSega Talks about processing power and the like, he's wrong.
What he's RIGHT about is that Sega has something up their sleeve. It might not be a console or not, but they are most likely planning SOMETHING.
When comradesnarky talks about his legit facts, He RIGHT
However, because the fact that The Patents depict some kind of machine, He might be wrong about Sega having no kind of plan, console or not.
Long story short, I believe BOTH of you for different reasons.
-----
Another thing I Would like to address is the *ahem* "Kidspad"
In my opinion, The "Kidspad" will be nothing more than a children's toy, similar to "leapfrog" products. Nothing Else.
It won't be advanced
It won't be Mass Market
None of that stuff
It will most likely be a simple toy
So STOP talking about it.
-----
Although I'm not 100% sure monetary-wise anymore, I still think that There is a possibility for some kind of console:
Correct me if I'm wrong with this (seriously please do so), but doesn't Sega+Sega Sammy have more money now than Sega alone during the Dreamcast Era?
I might Just be Fantarding (in fact I'm positive), but If Sega could (barely) support a console then, can't they do it even better now?
and yes, I'm now talking about all the odds and ends. as in R&D, Taxes, and such...
Once again, PLEASE correct me if I'm wrong.
------
I'll once again reiterate what I said earlier
I'm fairly positive that Sega CAN Make a Console, and make if successful, Possibly even more successful than any other Sega system before it.
They just have to
Release it at the right time
Make sure it appeals to ALL regions
AND
Make sure the right Marketing is in place
And hopefully
If the do release a console
It'll have good games~

Re: SEGADRIVE, is SEGA planning NEW console with it?
PS: (dilly-o 2.5)
I've already PMed MrSega this but, me and a friend Asked Clumseyorchyd from sega about this. He said the following
Because of the patent, and what ClumsyO said. I've came to two conclusion:
1. He has no word on what sort of device this is
2. He's Right and they aren't making a console at the moment
What I'm confused about is that:
Why is there such a patent like that?
Why is there a Dreamcast in the patent?
What is Sega Planning with this?
Even If it's NOT a new console in any way, shape, of form, this is very confusing...
I've already PMed MrSega this but, me and a friend Asked Clumseyorchyd from sega about this. He said the following
I don't have any info on it, but I've already killed a thread about new consoles and the like so I'm wary of any new threads popping up like this. If your intentions are not to start this type of thread, then I'm happy to re-open it -I'm just a bit gunshy following some patent hungry conspiracy theorists looking for the new Sega console that we're not making ...

Re: SEGADRIVE, is SEGA planning NEW console with it?
Well the anwser is pretty simple. Clumsyorchid doesn't know himself. He's a SEGA of America Forum employee. If he tells you he does know and that its not happening, he's actually lying. Why? Because SEGA doesn't want any type of SEGA hardware rumors to get leaked out to the gaming press, they rather keep it under radar, if Clumsy were to let the speculation start, it would easily get leaked out to Gamespot or Kotaku since Sega's official forum would be considered legit. SEGA is paying the admins to shut down rumors, if this rumor got out to the gaming press, Clusmy would be fired.MistaBuck wrote:PS: (dilly-o 2.5)

Why does SEGA do this? Obviously because they likely are up to something, and don't want thier cover blown. Remember from 2004-2009 console wishful thinking was premitted and discussions about a "Dreamcast 2" were freely allowed. It was a while after I joined thier forum, that the speculation persecution started. I was banned just for listing patents, and accused of calling the rumors true when I did not.
Also if your wondering about Haneda. He recieved even worse treatement over at the SEGA Forum. He talked about being a former Skunkworks engineer and all he did was discuss building a chipset for Dreamcast that would have made short work of PS2 called BLACK BELT.
And that this chipset was rejected by SEGA of Japan. His account was only open for 3 days and not enough time was there to check his credentials. Clumsy then stepped in, called him a liar and banned him immediately.
This is what Haneda told why he was banned:
"I was banned from that board by the staff of SEGA as I was revealing too much inside information."
Why? He didn't do anything wrong! He didn't discuss or mention a single thing about a SEGA console rumor. He did say that "There are no consumer plans for RINGEDGE however we do have a platform in development, but I can't say anything right now."

I seriously doubt it. A new Pico is WAY out of date, plus a LeapFrog-like device would be really stupid.MistaBuck wrote:That shit about the kidspad is still wrong though

Pico had edutainment games, and had a plug in TV feature along with the fact that it looked like a toy laptop. None of these descriptions are listed in the trademark description. Plus it says electronic games and liquid crystal screen display. Which means it has its own screen, Pico did not have a screen.

Yes and he then magically pops up on Zach Morris' site SegaNewsWire talking about the magical mystery machine THE SEGADRIVE. I'm sure that the forum admins at Sega didn't appreciate someone:
1 Pretending to be an ex_Sega employee
2 Making false claims about a new Sega console.
I can only imagine the frustration of having to make the same denials over and over again, because a few amateur conspiracy theorists keep trying to add 2+2 and coming up with 5 as their answer. What happens is the thread goes round in circles with false rumors of fictional consoles being bandied around by those same amateur conspiracy theorists and the admins have to make the same denials a thousand times.
The only thing that is certain right now is those amateur conspiracy theorists that are so sure that Sega is up to something will be feeling pretty foolish when come 2012 these things don't happen:
1. Sega DOESN'T pull out of publishing 3rd party boxed software on the PS3/Xbox360/Wii.
2. Sega DOESN'T reveal a MODEL 4 arcade system and DOESN'T start talking about the SEGADRIVE/NEPTUNE/WHATEVER.
3. The KIDSPAD turns out to be a portable version of the PICO for the Japanese market only.
Thats my take on it anyway...

here's the thing
1. it's called the Kids Pad
2. Sega Toys IS a Subsidiary of Sega Sammy, but, if I'm correct, they are two different companies
3. Like I said Earlier, They probably Made the patent sound more "technical" than it really is
4. Sega Toys Makes, well, Toys, Not game machines (that's regular Sega)
I DO believe you in some extents... This is not one of them
PS: Why did you say "May couldn't come any sooner"?
Something about a reveal or some shit
