Unless Sega can take ray-tracing technology to revolutionary new heights, I doubt Sammy okays any console from Sega. This isn't CSK we're talking about here, Sammy isn't going to risk losing billions unless they think there is some shot of a true comeback. While X360 is maxed out, PS3 still has some untapped power under the hood. Drake 3 is supposed to be a graphics extravaganza according to those that have seen the demos.

Wish I could argue this post. But I sadly can not!

I have heard rumors how ever about Sega being in contact with JSN Game Studios, something about a console named The B.I.G. C.
Have no info on this yet but will post new thread if info ever does come in.

That is the best code-name for a console I've ever heard. Real or fake.

Sure beats out "project cafe".

I thought "Project Reality" was charming. The "Big C" sounds like some new sandwich from Subways.


Back to Sega-Sammy-as a publicly traded company, they have a duty to let shareholders know if it is their plan to embark on something as big as a console launch. 2011 is coming to a close, and if there is still nothing concrete by 2012, I doubt Sega will ever release another home video game console.

And I agree with you mostly. But that doesn't mean in say, I guess the year 2015, that there won't be a new Sega console, or Confirmation of one just because there wasn't anything officially announced from Sega in those 2 years (2011-2012).
At least if Sega survives that long...

I honestly wish Sega would just go and announce that they won't be, or are working on a console. All these rumors since 2009 have been getting annoying.

And we haven't heard anything about kidspad. I want to see if it really IS something of Big importance, or just a kids toy based on Leapfrog.

@CruSega. Its all up to Hijime Satomi. Its his choice alone. Investing in a new console isn't gonna cost SEGASammy billions, most of thier budget has indicated that they a
ready have. SEGASammy has indicated that they are CHANGING thier entire 3rd party structure in 2012 & will release digital only titles. People need to stop underestimating Satomi he's nobody's fool, he probably has already ordered a new console to be desiged for all we know. Also
Always remeber that ALL SEGA consoles are based off arcade boards. It all depends on what SEGA does with the arcade hardware. never forget that.
ArcadeHeroes, TheStringerReport, & TSSZ news have all reported on the existance of a NEW arcade board so soon after RINGEDGE, we'll have to wait and see what SEGA does with this new board.

@SegaNews. Sounds interesting. Looks like SEGA might have found an investment firm or contracter. If this is true, I wonder what B.I.G. C stands for if this is related to SEGA.
