DCUltrapro wrote: I'm actually much the same way, I've had my Dreamcast collection for about 12 years and its only grown over the years and I'm still absolutely fanatical and invested in it, more so perhaps than I ever was after coming to sites like this and learning about things I'd never heard of such as the SD Card Reader, Tahi, DCISOzone, Halo for Dreamcast etc, oh and the tiny insignificant fact that PSO is still alive, free forever and running on my dc over BROADBAND!! (I keed lol) so yeah, still feeling the love for my DC and I can't wait for this game, just wish we could see a little in game soon
I had one back in the day, hell I had like 3. Sold them all by 2002, I know I was dumb, but I had beaten Shenmue 3 times, Gamestop stopped selling the games, I had no internet or a PC, so I had no idea what the hell homebrew was, or even that you could burn games for the system with no mod chip!

In the later part of 2008, I had what was at the time, a bad ass gaming PC. I could play Crysis maxed out in DX10 gfx, and was the BIGGEST PC gamer you could imagine, total graphics whore!

Anyway, in 2008, I started to emulate all kinds of systems on my PC, and then I cam back to my love, Shenmue! Imagine my surprise I could emulate the system PERFECTLY with NullDC!

Anyway, I had found Dcisozone, and spent the grerater part of a day just browsing through their 600+ retail games, so I was getting all sentimental.

I finaly caved in and bought the system I have now in June 2009, and now I must have like 300+ burnt games.

Anyway, I know nothing about the awesome Half-Life PC mods that were ported, and really fell in love with that game.

Hell, the DC still surprises me to this day. It is because of the dedicated community members, like us, that really keep this system alive, and share knowledge with our fellow enthusiasts.

That's why I do it, cause I want t give back to Dcisozone, and this site, they have given me so much joy.

Hell, when I first became a mod there, I downloaded lots of Bleemed games from there and shared them here haha. Take a look at the Bleem section, I kept it alive lmao.

yeah man, nice one. Its good to have people who really care about the DC community and who give back, I wish I had the time and knowledge to do something more usefull than just participating and passing round knowledge! I've had mine since release and own 230+ retail games, I think I've got maybe 12 games burnt and they were all either homebrews, unofficial ports or unreleased games.

I was in a similar position to you in about 2003/2004 I had no idea that it was still going online, that people were so mad about it and were making homebrews and releasing lost games etc, or that shooters such as Ikaruga were around, from then on I've never really been far from the DC scene and hope I never will be!!

Tahi represents a pretty major development step for the DC in terms of its reputation and abillity to live on beyond its years. Its soo hard to come to terms with the fact that its 12 years old!! I mean when i was buying the Saturn while it was still in production I would never have dreamed I'd ever be in love with a console that is over a decade old! If Tahi does happen and if it is even a fraction as epic as I hope it will be it may get a little attention for the DC again, Sega might look at it and realise their mistake lol, yeah I know, I do have a nice active imagination, you have to give me that lol

Don't worry, it was meant as one ! lol

Anthony and DCUltrapro, very interesting to read your Dreamcast stories. I can tell from your posting that you are both very passionate where the DC is concerned. There are some great people in the DC scene who visit this forum and I'm always interested to hear what they say. I hope the community keeps going and growing. Sega may have cut short the 'dream' but at least there have been plenty of people since who refuse to see it die.

Long live the Dreamcast ! :D

cheers man, I'm really glad I joined this site, the people on here are really helpful and you don't get crucified if you spell a word wrong or something lol, its always nice meeting a bunch of like minded people.

I wonder if the guys making Tahi have considered how it will be distributed yet? Maybe disc or SD ISO?? can't wait either way

if it turns out half as good as they promise (and we hope), it simply MUST be released on disk as an indie game. if only coz it'll be 3D ;)

at least what you see is far more real than any new sega console coming "pretty soon" ;)
