Yes it is hard to master but I quite liked that about the game. Often you will find yourself going round corners at the limit on two wheels ! Quite difficult to hang on, but bloody awsome when you pull it off. Afterall, F355 wasn't the easiest game to get to grips with(the first time I played that game it felt like the tracks were ice rinks) but was an incredible game to play once you'd put the graft in.

BTW, they named the game Vanishing Point not because of the cult road movie from the '70's but because the developers built the graphics engine in such a way that there is absolutely no popup even on the horizon. It's certainly one of the best looking games on the DC.

It's a very pretty game too, though the animation can seem a little dated compared to other games in the series. The combat can also be a little rigid without the flowing rhythm of later games.

All in all, not the greatest game on DC but the puzzles, set-pieces and atmosphere will keep you hooked for the duration.
I picked up a copy of this on your tip, but I haven't been able to play it yet. Too busy. I think I will put it on the docket before LoL. LoL strikes me as a game that is best with the desire and investment to block out all else. I'll wait for a slow week or two.

Yeah, plonk yourself on the sofa and enjoy both those games at your own pace. LOL is such a sweet game that you really want it to go on forever, so take your time and savour every moment.

@Ultra, yes I've played Frame Gride many times back in the day(I think it was one of the first imports I bought for DC) and it's an enjoyable little game. I always gravitated towards VOOT though as I had the Twinsticks and it was so much fun as a result.

I think I tried the Twinsticks with Frame Gride once but I can't remember if they worked or not !

It isn't impossible to finish VOOT without the sticks but it's so much more enjoyable with them. It is the single most asked for game/peripheral for people that come round my flat ;) . I got my Sticks together with the game for £45 which I thought was quite good value but I think the price has gone up substantially since then. I'd say if you're passionate about the game and the Dreamcast in general then get them. But if you just want the odd game then download it from Xbox Live.

nah not passionate enough to buy the sticks lol, I like the game but it infuriates me quite badly!

Did anyone else play D2? I think it was a very underrated film, I played it for a while and the graphics are pretty good for DC, it was pretty free roaming survivial horror stuff, but it wasn't exactly the most popular game ever

Yes, there are a few of us on here that rate D2 pretty highly. It's been discussed on quite a few threads over the last few months. Suffice to say it has production values up there with Shenmue, it has great graphics, good story, great atmosphere and brilliant music. It didn't get a PAL release which is a great shame and rather puzzling.

Lately I've been playing Ultimate Fighting Championship a lot, it got great reviews but I don't see a lot of people talk about it, it's a very fun game with great graphics, good models and amazing animations.
I love dreamcast fighting games and me and my friends are getting a little tired of soul calibur and capcom fighters

You're right ! UFC never gets a mention but I prefer it to all the wrestling games, for instance, on DC. It looked mightily impressive when it was first released and remains one of the Dreamcast's most visually stunning games. There was a sequel in the works before the DC bit the dust and it was cancelled.

Talking of fighting games, my absolute favourite, and possibly the best fighting game ever made, is Project Justice. Everything about the game is brilliant. Unsurpassed Genius !

I agree dude, Project Justice was awesomeness... however I'd have to say the most wacky/awesome/amazing combat game on the DC for me was Tech Romancer, I got obsessed with completing that game, some of the insane moves you could perform... that game was the bollox
