Falco is spending all his time on porting GTAIII to Dreamcast, which he's really proud of and talks about everywhere, so he has no time to finish what people paid for...

That user on multiple occasions apologized to you for his project not panning out. You backed a kickstarter as an investor sometimes investments dont pan out. Like seriously get over it already. Are you going to be on your deathbed clinching your fist over the failure of Elyisan Shadows? Pretty pathetic. Falco came here admitted his project failed and then said well best I can do is lend my assistance to the DC community and he's doing that. Guy isnt a war criminal wanted by Interpol he tried to make a video game and it didnt work out. Its time for you to move on man, it will be ok. Maybe we can make a go fund me for you to right this injustice, I'll happily donate a dollar.

Do you like being robbed? Is that something you just "let go?" If it wasn't for everything else with Falco during that whole debacle, I might agree with you, but he blatantly, consciously decided to give up on it and put the money elsewhere, take other jobs, and work on other development projects.

They didn't just take a dollar or two, or twenty. The Kickstarter made $185,322! And Falco's essential response is, "well, we tried" *shrug emoji*

It's not about my pledge, or the user I replied to's pledge, it's about holding people accountable. And if Kickstarter won't do it, regardless of if it's an "investment" or not, then we can't let those types of people forget it and we have to try and deter it from happening by anyone else in the future.

You weren't robbed, you're a low end backer on failed crowdfunding project from over a decade ago. Again, you made an investment and it didnt pan out. I mean yeah that stinks, but the saying that you cant draw blood from a stone, it rings true here. Fortunately your out a little over a hundred bucks. Take it as a lesson. Stick to finished projects when buying. Thats the only way to deter this, otherwise Kickstarters are always a gamble.

The guy apologized to you and said in the same post said he will do what he can to make amends within the DC community. And there hasn't been a homebrew / indie project where I haven't seen Falco either offering his assistance or praising others for the work they are putting into the community not to mention his work with KOS.

I don't think you fully followed the whole adventure here, because you're about the only person to ever defend that Kickstarter.

If it bothers you so much that it bothers me and so, so many others so much, you can remove yourself from the conversation.

Telling you you were not robbed is not defending a kickstarter  'Adventure' lol its really not that deep. Guy tried to crowd fund a game, failed at it, got a lot of people angry at him during the process. Doesn't mean he has to wear the scarlet letter until the end of time. And I'm not bothered by it, just find it kinda cringy lol

You didn't pay attention / know where the money was going do you?

After the campaign was funded, and this was Falco's full time job by the way, he paid for his wedding and got hair plugs (which clearly worked) among other things. Then he used the Kickstarter as "experience" to get a job, and abandoned the ES. He chronicled all this on his Facebook page at the time, and even bragged about it. Then when people started to get angry, he disappeared before coming back years later after doing some "soul searching" or "working on himself" or whatever he called it, and that's basically when he said "oh well I'm sorry" and there's no money for refunds. That's the nutshell version.

The Kickstarter wasn't budgeted well, despite it's incredible success, and the money went to some very private expenditures. Yes, it was his money by way of a salary from the Kickstarter funds, technically, technically, and yes, he wasn't the only person involved in ES, but like whatever Falco does, he made himself the face and took very, very little real responsibility. So when he started being active in the DC scene agin and announced his way of giving back to us and the community was inserting himself into other DC projects, but NOT working on ES, yeah, it got a lot of people, including myself, pretty pissed off, because it was like reopening a wound.

There's no reason Falco couldn't have continued working on ES, even in a little spare time. He chose not to. And before you retort on that, as someone that used to be in film and TV production, sometimes the only way to work on personal projects is in between during the little bit of spare time one has.

Falco isn't a very good guy from my perspective, and I don't like seeing him of these other projects, open source or not. If he can work on those, he can work on ES.
