yeah, I'm afraid that after this pre-orders at redspot will be out of the question for many people; they'll just wait till the game actually comes out

I'm sure Johannes didn't answer just because he fears people will start to ask for their money back. Duranik NEVER wanted people to pay in advance.

Well, if it makes you feel better, get a refund from RSG and buy the game after the release. Nobody will hinder you.
BUT I'm sure there's really nothing to grow concerned about. STURMWIND will be released and I personally think it is gorgeous and well worth the wait.

just voicing my concerns mate, however founded or unfounded they are ;) I'm not annoyed with Duranik but RSG as Mazo mentions... I used to get emails regularly from Max and I was fairly confident it would come out but I've not heard back from him since about February and it just makes you wonder. I'm sure the game will be awesome when it comes

I perfectly understand that people get annoyed by the delays. If I where not a beta tester, I would actually be the loudest one to complain ;)

thats the thing though. The game is probably all done and ready to go but Duranik are in a sticky situation between complaining customers and RSG who obviously have a deal with Duranik to release the game but they obviously haven't delivered yet.

I just find it really hard to believe that it could take this long to just get a couple thousand boxes printed in China... surely the number of companies and the SIZE of those companies are high enough to make it fairly easy to achieve... I dunno maybe its all down to money

It was in fact not easy to find an appropriate producer for the magnetboxes. Regarding the production time: I work in an advertising agency and also had some bad experiences with producers in china. Communicating with them can be really complicated and you have to keep an eye on the quality during the whole production or the result can turn out rather bad. The ones I worked with had a somewhat slow reaction time. Once you discover any issues, it can take MONTHS before the product matches "western quality standards".

In a way all of the delays also have a bright side to them because Duranik haven't been lazy in the meantime and optimised and added lots of stuff to an already fantastic game. Without the delays some entire passages and new enemies (even mid-bosses) would be missing and Duranik added the SD-Card support.
Optimisation of the game continues until literally the last possible minute and the game grows and gets better and better while we wait. Duranik once mentioned that the game already could be called "STURMWIND 1.5" by now - because of their constant work during the delays.

If the delays are about money (ie., finding the cheapest possible way to produce the packages), it could backfire on them big time if the delays go on too long. Every day brings the possibility that the game could leak onto a "pirate bay" of some kind.. and I'm sorry, but if I already have the game, there's little chance I'll pay for the packaging.

Why not just offer a download version anyway? If it were reasonably priced, many would-be pirates would consider paying for it that way. IF it's as quality a game as people say, that is.

 well I ain't mad at ya
Dang! Well... RSG needs to get their shit together and release this game pronto! If they have any sense of good business, they would cancel (or better yet delay) the L.E. SKU of the game, and prioritize on the standard release. This game Needs to come out now! I don't matter what version!
