It's a shame that this game won't make it to Dreamcast, Kraut Buster would've been a refreshing title.

Agreed. I hope they reconsider.

I loved all the neogeo ports, so its a shame they are dropping dc. I undersatand some of the backlash, many of their ports were barebones. Basic menus, nosaving in gunlord, music continued in pause menus. But what people forget, these were not developed specifically for dc, but instead an afterthought. Neo xys was fun, but punishing. I played it the least of all their games, it was just too hard.

This metal slug "inspired" game would have done great on dc I think. Its a shame they dont give it one last shot. Maybe set a minimum preorder number before persuing the project. Oh well

I felt to try and play the game "properly" resulted in too many deaths. I play a lot of shmups, and this one didnt seem to allow you to progress by slowly getting better. It just throws everything at you and you just die a lot and loose score chains / miss things

Yeah, I'll admit it's a little chaotic at times, but it's not like it's a hard game, I finished it the day it arrived

I'm still frustrated that I didn't have enough money around the time NEO XYX was up for pre-order for MVS, now the arcade original is almost impossible to find! Playing the Dreamcast version on a horizontally aligned HDTV in vertical mode is just not rewarding at all, it's like you're looking at a stamp collection from far away, makes no sense.

You can either turn your TV 90º or just switch the screen mode from the options menu. I don't see what the problem is, if you just want the same orientation/etc.

Playing a vertical game in horizontal mode is not really my thing. I like to play the game in the most optimal way as the creator intended it. Turning my HDTV 90º is not really a viable option, one does not simply flip it's 16:9 TV.

Don't get me wrong, I like the game, I just don't like how I need to play it on my current setup (hence I preferred the MVS version seeing that I've got a NAC setup with vertical screen).

I have to agree, neo xyx was not a difficult game and was a damn fine shmup.
The bloody game breaking bug in vertical mode was what stopped me playing.
It has it's own style and simply takes getting used to.
