When you create a team at the counter in the lobby, change the game mode from "Off" to "Battle" before you create the team. When you do that, you can play Forest/Cave/Mine/Ruins normally, but you and your teammates will be able to hit each other with your weapons and Techniques. You'll be able to kill each other and take each other's Meseta, but your weapon will not drop on the ground when you die.

If you're in a Battle team and you go to the guild counter, there will be a different list of quests than usual. There are eight different Battle quests, each one with different rules. Five of them take place in Spaceship, while three of them take place in Palace. When you start a duel, your level, equipment, and Technique levels may be reset, and no matter what class you are, you'll also be able to use a limited number of traps against your opponent(s). You get points for killing the other players, and you lose points when you die. Some rules also allow you to play in teams of two vs two, where points are shared between teammates. Most rules score you based on the number of points you get for killing the opposition, but two rules determine the winner based on who has the most Meseta at the end of the fight. Battle mode is the most difficult mode to master, as you have to fight human opponents instead of PSO's enemies and their dumb AI. It's also worth noting that Battle mode does not work cross platform between DC/PC on Sylverant at present; you usually get disconnected as soon as the fight starts, unfortunately.

awesome info Aleron, thanks very much!

If I remember correctly, in the temple and spacehip missions aren't there some enemies that come out to interfere? Like delsabers etc? I seem to recall that happening

Yes, they usually are meant to kill you if you face them, mainly because you start at a low level.
You can use them to any purpose, even make them go to your oponent.

I've read that I should save monogrinders, when should I use them? I have 23 monogrinders, 7 digrinders and 3 trigrinders.

grinders are purely for leveling up your weapons, nothing to do with mags. Use them when you find a weapon you are going to be comfortable with and will use for a while. Some weapons can grind to higher numbers than others, some can't be ground at all. Nifty little aspect of PSO imo

Note: as i once stated on my blog, schthack server doesn't have one single advantage over sylverant, ship for them was removed, all ships suport v2 but do not alow them to play (only one does i believe) population is non existant, server has bugs, no updates and in general no moderation.
I recomend sylverant server over schthack server any day really.
You can play there, i just don't see why.
