Here we go again.
Have you heard the word? It was my understanding that everyone has heard ...
THE RULES!
You know that we are not supposed to talk crap about each other on the forums or talk about each other. This forum is not for hate or debate. It for us all of us to share our opinions and views. Throwing out the window and accusing people of being trolls (Even if we know someone(s) a troll) it is wrong and not to be talked about in this forum. If you think someone is trolling, SIMPLY IGNORE! It's not hard at all. Everyone needs to try and get along with each other. There is an ignore button. It is there for a reason. If you do not like someone, simply click that button and ignore... Lets try to get along here people ...
Now about the Patent ... I question the DC in the picture and why it is there. I think its a server. I think it is there along with the computer and arcade board is showing that it is a sever/network and can have capabilities to work with all 3.

@stu
My theory was that when Nintendo patented the wii remote, they used the Gamecube as a placeholder, So I though that Sega Might do the same with this.
It depends...Can he current gen machines connect to arcade booths?
I don't really know

I really don't know, I guess its theoretically possible, it would really depend on how Sega could allow access to their arcade network through XBOX-Live and PSN, it would probably work similar to the way the COD servers work. Then again since it is a patent, they might be protecting the idea until such a time they are able to implement it on another unspecified next gen system.

I just don't know why sega keeps closing the forums speculation on the next console. The new moderator on there say that its just the same thing over and over. Every other company allows speculation except for sega. Why? Is this just to keep it quiet and to not any information? I just want to know how come sites like gamespot.com and ign.com havent speculated on anything. I mean I know there is no reason to believe but you would think they would have a hypothetical idea about what would happen. I'm searching the internet for anything!!!

sega2k wrote:Stu is right on one thing, how come Haneda cant verify that he worked for sega or at least name his job. I know companies have employees sign documents saying they cant release information. But Haneda hasnt worked for them in like 10 years. And I really doubt sega is monitoring this site at all and could care less.
I would agree with that Sega2k, I have visited other forums where ex-Sega employees have posted on their experiences on working for Sega and even revealing some interesting information on "behind-the-scenes" happenings etc, these people have revealed their names and positions and have provided evidence that they are telling the truth, which is more than "haneda" has ever done.
Here's an example:

(hope its ok to post links to other forums)

Well I know I went to the sega or america website and everyone said that they werent hiring after i posted the job positions. Well I translated the sega of japan website with google translator. They ARE hiring hardware designers. But its for arcade boards only though. So I dont think this really gives us any hope. Unless the next console sega makes is a arcade board. You can copy all the text and then put it in google translator.

Honestly, I think SEGA does not allow it because they don't want any information accidently leaked. They want their stuff kept a secret so the big 3 will not find out.sega2k wrote:I just don't know why sega keeps closing the forums speculation on the next console. From what I've seen as a visitor, it seems the moderators there are sick and tired of people posting fictional rumors as fact. It would appear that they have now taken a very hostile view towards ANY speculation or hypothetical discussion as a result, which is a shame.
Re: SEGADRIVE, is SEGA planning NEW console with it?
I agree as well, I think the DC is an example. This patent looks to be some sort of Wi-Fi service.RiilihShimo wrote:Here we go again.

Re: SEGADRIVE, is SEGA planning NEW console with it?
That's exactly what Gary b said a while back. SEGA goes through great lengths to keep console rumors from getting out because they don't have a PR spin spokesperson to deny it or debunk it. So they pressure the Forum admins to restrict any speculation.RiilihShimo wrote:Honestly, I think SEGA does not allow it because they don't want any information accidently leaked.
