Ok, if a cdi release will not happen, than this whole atomiswave thing is totally uninteresting. You did very well and made a lot of modders happy but... thats it. Atomiswave hack is a modders thing. Sad, but i will not get rid of my gd-drive - never. My dreamcast stays 100 percent real, and if it dies ill buy another original one. The modding is not the real thing.
Again thank you

but im totally out now. Have fun with the upcoming releases.

He is saying the data rate is bigger than a CD can handle. Im sure it will be converted and played with otherwise, wont need him to do it.

ShindouGo wrote:@megavolt85 Have you thought about putting a dummy file to push the data outwards and thus speed up the reading speed ?
yes of course I added a dummy file, although in the case of GDEMU it did not matter
CDI works on emulator but doesn't work on GDEMU
the fact is that CDI images, like non-optimized GDI images, are read a little slower, but even this small difference is enough to prevent the game from loading

Lets hope so! I actually made cover art front/ back for dolphin blue on dreamcast. I went totally nuts for an upcoming release, to do myself a own copy of it

dreamcast community is too crazy. Somebody will make it work.

maybe it's just how Metal Slug is structured ? it seems VERY CLOSE to work also on cd
something can be tried later, ie remove bgm, to make other tries ?
you made an AWESOME first step, possibly other games would run fine via cd too instead

as far as I know, one member of this forum is engaged in the creation of CDI and may also focus on other ports
I will not call his nickname, I think he will tell you everything when the time comes
I'm focusing on the next port, which is 50% ready

I have a GDEMU with firmware 5.20.3 (the one that fixed RE:CV) and the latest gdi, appears in the menu, but it doesn't play it. (In fact, the MS6 Artwork, doesn't show in the menu) and when I hit start, it goes straight to the DC bios menu.
It works fine with the old version.
I am having a similar problem. I just getting "Unsupported Disk/Empty Folder" on GDmenu and pressing "A" makes it go to the system menu. Strange thing is GDemu_SD maker reads the game fine as Metal Slug 6. This was on my legit GDemu and I may try my clone GDemu to see if the GDI works on it.

What a hypocritical way of thinking, that is why people should not create false illusions that it is super easy to port the games, those who deliberately spread news that there will be ports of all the atomiswave games do not know the hard work is behind to perform that feat, users only come to ask for more games and do not offer any help, they only cry because something that was only shown as experimental does not work as they want.

Thanks, that's a good news to hear someone is taking over the cdi release

Kudos for the excellent work you've done so far !
