Yes there is also missing music where Marvin is in the 1F west office.Green Ranger wrote:Do you mean the exterior to the police station that's seen in Scenario B right after Leon and Claire get off the street? If so, my upcoming update to RE2: Special Edtion restores the music to that location.Xranger60 wrote:Just wondering - has anyone made a patch that just fixes the missing music outside the police station and in the 1F west office?

Hi cbnj! I've written some tutorials here for everyone to get started- RE2 Modding Tutorialscbnj wrote:Hi! Im interested to mod re2 !
By the way, thank you for your wonderful contributions to DOA2 modding! It's too bad you weren't actively working on it back in 2015 when I was doing my DOA2: FINAL Mod- perhaps we could've collaborated.

Re: Resident Evil 2 Dreamcast Modding
@GreenRanger - Can you please help me with something? I’m looking to completely replace the playable characters in your RE2 SE Plus mod but do the models installed for the extreme battle mode characters also affect the playable character models in the main game? This is what happens when modding RE3, the models you change affect others from the main game. Clarification would be great thanks

Re: Resident Evil 2 Dreamcast Modding
Extreme Battle Mode's character select screen uses different models that have custom animations. Any PLD model with 'CH' at the end of its name is used specifically for the character select screen. The Battle Mode itself though, uses the same models as the main game.DreamState wrote: ↑Mon Aug 12, 2024 6:52 am @GreenRanger - Can you please help me with something? If you're replacing the models in RE2SE or RE2SE PLUS for personal use, that's fine. I do ask however that you do not redistribute the Mod with whatever models you're replacing them with, so as to avoid confusion with it and my official release.

Re: Resident Evil 2 Dreamcast Modding
Is there any way as far as you know of how to get different models to be used for the main game and battle mode? I’m just curious as to why they have to be the same.
Also, another question, how do you alter the text box on the battle mode screen showing character name? I want to change it from Ark Thompson to someone else of my own choice.

The text box you're referring to requires hex editing the game's BIO2DC.EXE file. You would then of course need to change the character's name and avatar image on the inventory screen to match that of whichever character you're replacing it with.DreamState wrote: ↑Tue Aug 13, 2024 11:45 pm Also, another question, how do you alter the text box on the battle mode screen showing character name? Re: Resident Evil 2 Dreamcast Modding
@GreenRanger Can you please offer some very concise advise on how to alter the textures/model for Sherry w/ vest? I am looking at my game files following the safehouse manual and I was expecting to see EMDs in the EMD folder of your Special Edition discs, but all that is contained are TIM files. Sherry is EM04F.TIM and EM14F.TIM but what exactly am I doing with these to input new textures/models for her into the game? Am I simply creating my own custom model of her and saving/renaming its new created TIM to the appropriate game filename to show up in game, or is it more of a complicated process?
