dude with your dreamcast crammed like that it will overheat because of lack of proper airflow. the fan for that is on the front right side, and with your dvr blocking it it will overheat and fail

I'm going to try and take some pics of my setup tonight so I can post them for you, I 've got a tonne of old photos from my old room in my folks house as I moved out with my Fiance about 18 months ago, things are much more understated now that I have a spare room to stash my game collection bulk and a front room for all my active consoles to be hooked up. How do you imbed a picture like the poster above? cheers

I still need door/drawer pulls and some stained glass. I also need to ventilate and black out the shelves. But I've been so excited to have this done, I wanted to post some pics.

Where it is now. SCPH-1001 baby! People who criticize it are hardcore audiophiles. They rag on it compared to 5000usd CD players. That's pretty good company to keep.

I absolutely DIG that room ! Everything from the beautiful cabinet to the rotating 'tate style' TV and the potential stained glass. All totally necessary for the ultimate DC experience. A nice selection of other gear too 8-)

SCPH-1001, is that the fabled Ps1 that sounds amazing when playing cd's ? I always thought that was an internet/urban myth so good to know it's true.

I wonder how the DC stacks up as a CD player. I used to have it loaded with the Blaze MP3 player and it sounded ok from what I remember.

Thanks, Neohound. I might do stained glass across all three top panels to keep more components up there. My wife is annoyed at having the dvd remote blocked by the door.

The ps1 sounds really, really good. Full, soft midrange sound and great stereo separation. It's always a huge debate and many audiophiles will dismiss it. However, like I said, they're discussing it alongside extremely high-end equipment. It seems like the more experienced and sensible heads don't deride the ps1 at all. When you consider that you can still get one for 10-20usd, and it will blow away ANYTHING you'll find for several hundreds of dollars...well, that's a great thing. It may not be totally up to snuff with a 5-7k cd player but lol, whatever!

I understand the DC has a really nice sound set up too. I haven't seen too much about how the propietary jack transfers sound though. I do know the Sony scph-5xxx shares the same setup as the 1xxx, but the newer a/v slot is horseshit for sound. I've heard it, and it is something you would notice even if you don't really care about decent sound.

dude that is sick!! I love that you got the tv to turn so that you can play Ikaruga how it was meant to be. lucky bastard!! I need to do some proper pics of my setup at somepoint but just never get round to it. As I now live with my fiance, who can't understand my obsession with games AT ALL, my games collection is now spaced out across the whole 2 bedroom flat that we own so its a bit of a pain. But at least I have my dc hooked up via VGA to my 37" LG LCD 1080p screen. its the balls imo

That is awesome. I have been wanting to mount one of my T.V.'s like that for awhile but I never could find a decent mount that rotates like that. Did you custom make the rotating bracket or did you buy it?

here is how my stuff is now:

I have my bulk of games boxed up or on shelves in the spare room along with my dvds, hd dvds, my desktop pc, my Saturn xbox and ps2 are out but not connected in the spare room, and my other consoles and games are all boxed up and hidden away (Master System, Mega Drive, Mega CD, Atar Jaguar, Atari Lynx, Game Cube, Game Gear)

can anyone spot the difference on my Dreamcast from normal ones? ;)
