sounds good, i will just put something quick together to get it up and running for me to test and when you get back around to this then we will see where it goes :D
when all said and done i will stick the gerbers on here and perhaps upload it to oshpark so anyone can simply order some boards and put it together for themselves, should be a pretty easy build for anyone to do.

xzer0PL wrote:Thanks for fast answer! I solved vmu problem in other way. Speud's VMU Tool was seeing all memory cards. I formatted them without problem. Now only salturn controller is a problem. I noticed now, during testing that only D-pad works on both of saturn unofficial pads (one is retrobit controller). I will check connections.

EDIT

VMU problem not solved. All vmu's are visible when I'm using mice in VMU TOOL only. With ps2 pad not working. Tomorrow I will flash new firmware

EDIT2

OK with new firmware VMU works great. Now I must check saturn connector. Probably it has some loose.
which firmware did you used works fine? I download the one build in 2020.7.16 ,33kb ,got the same problems as you,I can see the vmu in bios,but it is always need "delete all for reset",and cannot use when plug the PS controller.

In memory card manager there is no VMU. Mice, psx, ps2 works great. I have two unofficial saturn controllers. One works, other not.
test this firmware
SMPMK2DC.7z

I used this firmware.

yeah i'm using the arcade stick firmware on my board i've designed and i currently have the same issue, i can get the icon to show up on the dreamcast but it's hit and miss but no vmu's and when i connect it to the pc and use the vmu dumper it says:
Detect 0 VMU
SPI ID FE FE FE
i have more flash chips coming so i will replace the one i have on there right now and see how i get on with that since i ordered the wrong one initially and ended up with a M25PE16-VMP6G, it looks to have the same pinout but it's not working for me so we'll see what happens once i've replaced it with a M25PE16-VMW6G

this is what my initial board looks like, for some reason one of the traces didn't show up on the board design so i didn't route it but that's now fixed and i've also changed up the pinout for the cable to make it so you don't need to cut any wires to attach a cable from a controller.

the soldering looks a lot worse on the wires in the image than they actually are, i've tested them and there are no bridges.

once this one is fully working i'll probs order the new boards and give them a go and if all goes well on that i will upload it for people to order there own.

update:

my M25PE16-VMW6G chips came and i replaced the current one with that and when i connect it to the pc i now get.
Detect 0 VMU
SPI ID 00 00 00
as mentioned above i'm using the arcade stick firmware.

here are the schematics i'm working off:

hello guys ... this programmable adapter, just buy STM32F103C8T6 module mounted on the internet and record via usb? I have a tl866 programmer without an adapter for this chip :(
edit. I saw all the pages kkkkk I need a programmer :mrgreen:

there is more to it than buying just a STM32F103C8T6 board.

can anyone confirm for the arcade firmware i am supposed to be connecting the M25PE16 to:

1 CS -> PA_15
2 MISO -> PB_4
3 WP -> +3.3V
4 Vss -> GND
5 MOSI -> PB_5
6 SCK -> PB_3
7 Reset -> +3.3V
8 Vcc -> +3.3V

i've double checked everything and it's still not detecting the chip and the dreamcast is having trouble even showing up as a controller.

update:
i've wired up another one using wires so i know it's setup as the schematic asks for when it comes to the arcade stick firmware and it hardly ever shows up as a controller on the dreamcast still and hooking it upto the pc and connecting to it using the vmu dumper still gives me:
Detect 0 VMU
SPI ID 00 00 00
