Hi Rasputin3000, I will send you a message on discord
For BBA Mode, you will not use the same ip pattern as shown on PCwzrd video.
You need to set you ip to 192.168.2.2 or leave as DHCP mode.

Expanded update. BBA_mode works fantastically! It is easier than the guide makes it out to be (assuming you do not have a wonky usb ethernet dongle like I did). Just set your Dreamcast BBA config to match that of the default structure seen in BBA_mode.sh (pictured in Scrivani's guide above) and it will work like a charm!
Note, it won't detect that you are playing PSO on Dreamcast Now without a little tweak. Scrivani has been immensely helpful in this process and made it a breeze.
Really surprized more people do not take this route.

Thank you Rasputin3000! Glad to see a new BBA Mode user
All compatible games can be recognized, just as we often see Sonic1994DC doing with PSO. As we said, in this case it is a matter of ensuring that tcpdump is installed, however the latest Dreampi 1.8 image has a small known problem in the repository list for installing new applications.

I've been wanting to set this up when I have some free time to tinker. Few questions for those who use this.
1. As the original post is from about 2 years ago, are the instructions still the best/easiest way to set this up?
2. Does DCNOW recognize you as the same user regardless if you are using modem or BBA?
3. Once I set this up, I should be able to move between modem and BBA games easily? For example if I am playing OutTrigger on BBA, then switch over to Alien Front Online, do I need to reboot the PI or anything?
4. It was mentioned PSO had issues with this, is that still the case? Any other issues I should be aware of people run into?

1. Yes this is still the best and easiest way to set up.
2. Yes DCNOW recognizes when you are using a BBA or a modem. Here are example pictures of when I'm using a Modem then a BBA. Also I like to accentuate if I'm playing with a Modem or a BBA. If I'm using a Modem I would put as my name
Sonic1994DC (Wifi-Modem)
then if I'm using a BBA,
Sonic1994DC (Wifi-BBA)
3. Yes you can move between Modem and BBA games quickly. I plan it, if I want to play a BBA game I just leave it in there and wait for BBA.Mode to activate. Mine is set to start in 5 minutes. I can tell when BBA.Mode is activate because only one light will lit up on my USB modem. When I do want to play a Modem game 2 lights will be lit up. If I'm playing a BBA game then decide I also want to play a Modem game, I turn off/reset the Pi for like 5 seconds then turn back on the Pi.
4. There's not any issues that I know of. I know what you're saying, like it will display the wrong game but my friend enfilade who plays on Modem has that same problem. I think some of it is a Dreamcast Now problem
If you have anymore questions I would love to answer them

I'm not sure if I'm understanding this correctly. I have a DreamPi+Modem and BBA both connected to my network via Ethernet. How would the DreamPi know that my BBA is gaming online if I'm using an upstream DNS server on my BBA (46.101.91.123) and not pointing my BBA's DNS to the DreamPi?

I'll put together a short explanatory guide:
1) You must have a DreamPi/RaspberryPi configured for Wi-Fi.
2) An RJ45 cable (CAT5 or CAT5E) must connect the RaspberryPi's Ethernet port to the BBA.
3) On the RaspberryPi command line, you must execute the activation command:
./bba_mode.sh
4) Then choose option 0 and press enter.
5) On the Dreamcast, make sure that the browser settings for "Planet Web" 3.0 (or similar that works with BBA) your BBA is in DHCP, or if you want to specify it, it should be as follows:
Static IP Config
Dreamcast IP - 192.168.2.2
Netmask - 255.255.255.0
Gateway - 192.168.2.1
DNS1 - 192.168.2.1
6) Connect a BBA Game or Browser
That's it, the Dreampi/RaspberryPi will be the "internet source" to BBA, with the addition of managing the Dreamcast Now, it will open a DCNOW session and recognize the game.
After restarting the raspberryPi, everything goes back to normal and you will be able to connect to a game via dial-up.
After following this guide, you will probably understand the main guide better, in the first post.
