So before I upgraded my pi to 1.4 everything was fine except I couldn't get toy racer to function. But once I updated to 1.4 now it wont connect at all.
Dreamcast says "There is no answer at this telephone number.."
I am using the Dell Modem that was previously working fine, and also using a Viking DLE Phone line sim for the voltage so thats fine too.
I tried troubleshooting the pi,
I ran sudo ./dreampi.py --no-daemon produces the following output
Traceback (most recent call last)
File "./dreampi.py", line 438 in <module>
sys.exit(Main())
File "./dreampi.py", line 426 in main
config_server.stop()
File "/home/pi/dreampi.py/config_server.py", line 81 in stop
thread.join()
AttributeError: 'nontype' object has no attribute 'join'
Any ideas whats wrong?

Re: Dreampi 1.4 Connection problems
Fixed the problem.
Turns out it was a bad phone cable. Went to radio shack and bought a new one and that fixed the problem. Also fixed my huge lag issues I was having with dreampi.
So if anyone here has lag issues or gets dropped often using dreampi, it could be you need a new phone cable.

Re: Dreampi 1.4 Connection problems
If you are wanting to make your own, just head down to your local radio shack and get some phone line there, thats where I got mine, and it works great. For me I'm also using a Viking DLE-200B Phone Line Simulator (Available on Ebay). Instead of a Line Voltage Inducer.dave_van_damn wrote:Thanks for the tip - I constantly get dropped. But another alternative and a cheap solution would be to order one of PCWizards pre-made cables.
http://www.dreamcastlive.net/shop.html - Just email him at [email protected] with what you are wanting.
I recommend also getting his LVI AC Adapter so you dont have to constantly buy batteries
Let me know if you need anymore help.

Re: Dreampi 1.4 Connection problems
Id first exaimne to make sure your solidering has a solid connection between your componets. Also Id try a new 9v battery as well. If after all this and its still not working its likely the capacitor or resistor being faulty.dave_van_damn wrote:Thanks for yor help! Youll need a multimeter to test. I found some helpful step by step instructions. When in doubt it wouldn't hurt just to replace both anyways.
To test the ohm resistor http://m.wikihow.com/Test-Resistors
To test the capacitor http://m.wikihow.com/Test-Resistors
Let me know if this helps.
